This Sounds Wrong

He's a religious Republican and the affair was with a WOMAN? I'm disappointed.

When I'd heard "Argentina," I was certain he'd tell us of his great love of a particularly enticing underage capybara.

@kristinp

The exact same as I felt when at the age of eleven, growing up in SC, my dad announced before Christmas he was leaving us for his secretary, and did, in the middle of an ice storm.

South Carolina men can be very childish bastards.

When did the Right have skill with language?

They never have. They just repeated their own version of it till the rest of us would give up.

The right never had any real power. We gave it to them. Why, I'm still trying to figure out. Maybe we felt we needed to be punished, like at the end of the 70s. But please God let us not be so stupid again.

Oh God The Wingnut This Week

To think what his question was this week and how he answered it. To think that even the evil Michelle Malkin is franker than him:

http://michellemalkin.com/2009/06/24/bastard/

(Linking to Malkin is not something I do lightly)

Oh good lord. I've figured it out. God exists, and he gave the GOP a chance, and sometime around 2005, He lost patience and has cursed them ever since. I'd put my money on Terri Schiavo as being the moment when He said, "Okay, enough of this shit in My name."

All's I know is that if they were being given the wrath of God, reputed to be rather poetic with a strong streak of irony, it would look remarkably similar.

Hee. Hee hee hee hee.

@WarLord

Oh heavens, all of them.

Original article: This Modern World

Hey Tom

Did you know there are bloggers who support the people from Iran, and are trying to help get their info out, and yet agree that Obama should keep American government hands off this? Bloggers that are left-wing? Like me for instance?

And yes, my posts on Iran are in green. So sue me.

Do you know what you do when you make a generalization like this(though i agree with most of this cartoon)? You make it a black and white issue, and make it seem like being on the left means you can't support the protesters in any way.

I realize it's a riskless thing to support. And bloggers are in no way as brave as the protesters in Iran.

But Jesus, Dan. It's not as cut-and-dried as this.

Sorry, but I felt insulted. You're kind of wrong here.

Original article: Jackson's peers react

Would this be the same Tommy Mottolla

...Who had a vicious feud with Jackson?

If so, his quote is a bit sickening. It's interesting seeing the general tone, which is that of people who were prepared this statement a long time ago, much like the Times keeps obits on file and ready. "Such a shame, thanks for the music and stuff."

Says something, I thing. Sad.

Well, that was fluffy

That we live in a time when this subject can actually generate a saleable piece is a wonder.

And yes, it's totally possible. You just TURN IT OFF.

@blueskies

Yes, and what does it say about his degree of self-involvement that he goes to China and this is what he writes about?

It must be great to get paid to write what, for most people, would just be an e-mail to his friends.

Also: obviously he has some kind of connection. He wrote this. he sent it to an editor. It's here on the web to look at. Somehow I doubt he did all this with a typewriter and a stamp, you think? So it's just that he limited what tools he was using.

Besides himself.

Original article: The King is dead

A Bad Father

The MJ they loved died sometime in the mid-80s.

I wonder if any of them care about the wreck he left for his three children, that he treated as collectibles.

Can you imagine what life will be like for those three outside the world he kept them in?

He was a sickeningly bad father. To me, that's what he made his legacy. I really don't care about his pain of abuse. He overwhelmed it with his own.

this is that guy

The guy whose cellphone rings in a theatre.

Who, if he's on a bus, keeps updating the person he's calling on which stops he's on, loudly.

Who doesn't even notice himself about to walk right through me as he is mesmerized by his Blackberry.

This is him.

@compassus

I was just thinking, what does Sirota's publicist think? Thanks!

Sunday, June 28, 2009 07:11 PM

Frum is a good guess

It can't be Karl Rove because he isn't screwing around with our heads well enough.

It can't be Dana Perino because the paragraphs are longer thank a minimum three sentences.

I vote Bill Kristol. Because he's always wrong.

@Renegade_Iconoclast and Editors

That has TOTALLY got to be an Editor's Choice letter.

The next time a conservative says that polls don't matter

...I will show them this article.

I'm certain GW knows, by the way, cherry picked statistics and redefinition in place of explanation are not an argument.

Knows this but writes this anyway.

Sunday, June 28, 2009 11:20 PM

@Renegade_Iconoclast

And it is indeed appreciated. In fact, his thoughts are so intriguing that I now want his newsletter. I think I have a question that would be good for GW to not answer next week:

Dear Wingnut,

After reading your column all these weeks, I now see that I have supported pure evil all my life, as a liberal. I realize I can never truly make up for all those flags I've burned and all those wars I haven't supported, but I still want to be on the side that isn't going to burn in Hell while yours watches us from above and laughs, which evangelists have told me will be the special and sweetest pleasure of the blessed. That's not for me! Please, tell me, how can I, too, become a conservative like yourself?
