THUG CONFRONTED HER

As I watched, the TV camera focused on the first of the two women protestors shown, just as some thug patrolling the aisle yanked a sign or piece of material from the hands of the woman! I was hoping someone videotaped that and showed the world that, in addition to the facism going on outside the convention, it was also going on inside. Didn't see the actual confrontation with the second. Just saw two more men hustling a woman with a bright pink top up the stairs toward the exit while she protested.

I'm amazed they got past the gestapo. Good for them!

Wal-Mart?

A point needs to be made here, folks.

Michelle Obama shops at Target. Yep. She likes to stretch the dollar, too. I doubt very much of her time - if any - is spent at Neiman-Marcus.

And why doesn't she shop at Wal-Mart? Because Chicago, until it lost a recent lawsuit, banned Wal-Mart from building within the city limits.

Original article: Sarah Palin's choice

How about this idea?

An early writer makes this observation:

I still have yet to see a rational, sensible or believable explanation for for a woman, pregnant at 44 (which is considered advanced maternal age/high risk pregnancy), with a Down syndrome baby (also considered a high risk pregnancy and delivery), who goes into labor a month prematurely (even more high-risk), has her water break (which introduces a risk of infection and imminent labor, and usually warrants immediate hospitalization), but does NOT go to the hospital, but instead, chooses to get on an airplane for an 8-hour trip from Texas to Alaska, arrives in Alaska, then bypasses major medical centers to drive another hour to a small clinic (which does not have a neo-natal intensive care unit/NICU, or perinatologists or neonatologists) to have a family doctor (not an ob-gyn) deliver a premature child with Down syndrome?

I've been wondering that, too, as well as why any mother would throw her pregnant daughter under the bus to protect herself against a silly rumor that she might, in fact, be the grandmother of little Trig. A rumor that should have been either ignored or explained, as Dr. Parikh did, with regard to most Downs syndrome babies being born to older mothers.

My guess is that Sarah has lots more to hide. Here's the link to a piece that appeared in Salon yesterday: http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2008/09/05/palin_partner/index.html

The McCain campaign is now threatening to sue the National Enquirer which carried this story. However, the sealing-of-the-divorce-records part of the story is correct. (The court denied that motion the day after it was filed.)

But, heck, Sarah's a major asset to the party and will certainly carry the state of Alaska, especially since they just announced that every man, woman, and child will be receiving a check for $3,269, their share of the state's oil wealth. And this time the annual checks include an extra $1,200 bonus to "help offset soaring fuel prices."

Original article: Palin watch

She may not be meeting the press....

....but she's getting "ink" via the biography that has just appeared for sale on both Barnes & Noble and Amazon's websites. Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down by someone named Kaylene Johnson, is already getting published reader reviews. One "reviewer" said that even though the book was written prior to Palin's selection as GOP vice presidential nominee, it's a good source for learning about her background.

Interestingly, both sites show publication dates of September, 2008--one specifies September 1st. The small, regional publisher named Epicenter (which deals with all things Alaskan) appears to have a magnificently efficient marketing department, don't you think? Not only is the book being sold so fast that it's reached "best seller" status, but it's been reviewed by 10 people the last I checked (4 on one site and 6 on the other--only one negative--and one "reviewer" gushed on about the wonderful chapter describing "partial birth" abortion and how Barack Obama supports killing babies)

Wasn't it only 3 days ago that Sarah Barracuda was mocking Barack Obama for publishing two memoirs? Isn't it interesting that someone had this book featuring her biography all ready to roll out, complete with reviews and a book tour already scheduled for its author?

Karl Rove and his minions in the McCain campaign have plans for Sarah's introduction to the masses, as do the religious right nuts who have been filling the blogs with anti-choice rhetoric these past few days, but it doesn't include any face-to-face interviews, that's for sure.
