The Gonzo defense.

"...and acted always with the intent and commitment to honor the rule of law." In one word, intent, we have the Gonzo defense. Firstly, he intended to do right (of course all enemies of the state claim this). Secondly, honoring the rule of law does sounds somewhat distinct from following the rule of law.... As in " I honor the rule of law by framing my degree from my law school"...

Ok... so the defense is rather thin, but these guys honestly think they control reality. And their puppet supreme court might agree with them.

Original article: President Who?

Republican nonsense....

Yeah, but they all support the war. They all support the tax cuts for the most wealthy that have blown our deficit into the stratosphere (and will be the cause of a mighty downfall). They all support insane immigration policies. They all believe that private health care is the way to go.... Kind of like... what's his name .... oh yeah... George W. Bush. Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck. *

*the exception being Ron Paul, who is being ignored by his party.

Uniting our many fractures....

What Al Gore represents is a leader who is above the fray. He is from outside the Beltway, and outside politics during this horrible period where the paradigm of checks and balances degraded to a gotcha game of throwing mud and shit at each other.

America could truly elect this man without the stench of partisanship that will sully this contest damn near no matter what. Republican's chastised by their choice in the worst president to ever lead this country, will be able to exercise a sort of contrition by voting for the man they should have in 2000. Democrats will be able to right the wrong that was committed against them by the capricious Supreme Court in 2000, and re-elect the man who won the election that year.

All in all, everyone will have a reason to vote for Gore, and feel good about it. He is the only candidate who had beaten George W. Bush. The rest, particularly those Senators in the middle of the mud and shit slinging contest, have not shown that they can do anything against the petulant boy king. Even now, there is all but gridlock up there, so no one looks particularly good.

America needs Al Gore, because America needs someone they can agree on that is not encumbered with.... well... shit and mud.

Besides, he will have the very best bumper sticker in the history of politics:

Re-elect Al Gore 2008.

Now that the gloves are off:

Al Gore has reinvented himself into the person that he always was. His ability to rouse a crowd, now that he doesn't have the million little advisors shaping him into the just above pabulum that couldn't defeat the inarticulate, psychotic little alcoholic who .....oh wait... he did beat him... Let me start again:

We need Al Gore now more then ever. No one in this field of candidates represents themselves, nor has a chance of being a true uniter. No one in this field is as unsullied by the events of the past two administrations as he is. Reluctance to be president could be his greatest asset. We will see his candidacy for what it is: A true desire for public service. To us, the public. We will feel confident that he is not in the pocket of big business, if for no other reason, then his thesis on global warming is to stop big business from continuing to destroy the earth.

If he does not run, then in fact, it is his ego that keeps him from doing the right thing. He wants to save the world, he wants to stop global warming? Well start with leading the country that is most responsible for the consumption and laws that allow us to be the greatest cause of global warming.

Anything less is damn near an act of cowardice.

Original article: Why is this man laughing?

They are sooooo funny....

Scalia: "So I sez to Ginsburg, suck my balls woman... we are putting George Bush in the presidency... you don't like it... go complain to the Supreme Court. Now we have Alito and Roberts, so I don't even have to ask her to suck my balls anymore"
