Let's change the debate so that we can all agree:

Let me see if I can simplify this:

Four oranges were killed, and found on the streets of Baghdad. One apple was also killed. The score keepers determined that the one apple was part of sectarian violence. What they failed to understand or express is that the whole fruit cart, containing one million, two hundred thousand piece of fruit had overturned, destroying the entire stock of fruit. The cart, the fruit and it's destruction is a direct result of our involvement in this preemptive war that we started.

Oh... wait.. it's not apples and oranges is it? It is human beings- men, women and children who have lost their lives as a result of our simply being there.

If you are like me, 1,200,000 Iraqis killed as a result of our invasion of Iraq is a war crime, and must stop immediately. For reasons I cannot begin to fathom, this is not part of the dialog regarding the insolvable quagmire we are in.

So, let's look at it in a way that even a Republican can understand: 1,200,000 people killed in a war that has thus far cost $600,000,000,000... that works out to half a million dollars per casualty... whether we killed them or not.

What part of the humanitarian or utilitarian or economic sensibility of this grotesque statistic can one find continued support?

If you don't believe that this is a humanitarian crisis, aided and abetted by our continued presence there, then perhaps you might look at simply how much it is costing us, and what our potential return will be.

Caveat: Those who, beyond all logic, believe the propaganda machine trumpeted by FOX and echoed more or less intact by the rest of the mainstream media... then, yeah, you will not be able to understand the travesty outlined above.

Not quite the usual High Crimes and Misdemeanors or War Crimes criticism...

Unfortunately, Bush's inability to read without some hooked on phonics help is the least of his or our problems.

hmmmm... we need a new word for this....

Should we think of them as candidates or politicians? CILF's or PILF's?

Another piece of evidence....:

I'm sure that the Bush junta is now much more careful with their language and who they talk to when discussing their war crimes.

However, this is a nice piece of evidence that will do nicely when Bush and his band of criminals is brought before the Hague on various serious violations of International Law and the Geneva Convention. Specifically, this seems to go into the body of evidence of his Crimes Against the Peace.

I suppose all we can do now, is let our negligent House of Representatives know that the body of evidence that this war is in violation of various War Crimes statutes, and knowing that, any further funding could be construed as aiding and abetting further War Crimes.

What part of "War Crime" do these Senators not understand?

This 'debate', which it is not, refuses to embrace the core and central issues of our involvement in this war, nor the resulting massive and criminal casualties. Remember Senators, this war was created over a pack of lies, and has been perpetuated by a constantly changing field of excuses, which, as it happens, have also proven to all be lies, whether by intentional distortion, or ignorance of what is really happening.

Please... go ahead... plunge us deeper into this mess with further astronomical sums that will result in continued astronomical casualties and chaos. Your names will be listed as aiding and abetting this crime despite the facts regarding this war are well known, and perhaps best known by you who are legislating the continuation of this awful and dark chapter in the history of the United States.

One million, two hundred thousand dead and counting.

Exposing the man behind the curtain...

Thank you Mr. Blumenthal for your usual in-depth and thorough analysis of a story that must be told. I'm glad you don't work for the New York Times or CBS... or might never have heard about this suit and the underlying facts.

Oh... by the way, did you hear the one about the recent survey that determined that 1,200,000 people have lost their lives as a result of our illegal war and occupation of a country we invaded?

Well, you wouldn't if you read the New York Times or watch CBS. For that matter, throw in the rest of the mainstream media. All you hear of is whether or not 'insurgents' are being counted correctly in the kill count.

Perhaps Mr. Rather's suit will blow open the halls of corrupt corporate media manipulation by the very darkest elements against our democracy... but I assure you, the mainstream media will do their best to make sure no one hears that tree falling in the forest.

Working for the crazies...

People who do coke regularly become assholes, and often don't even know it. That is by no means a point or reason to feel sorry for them, you can't. Since roach spray won't work, you really have to just get yourself out of that situation as quickly as you can.

Her life, the bosses, will continue to unravel, and she may or may not come to understand what a shithead she had become. It's not your problem. It's your job to move on.

Addendum: I am sure, unless your boss is completely insulated by her drug problem will figure out this article is written about her. Touché! A truly excellent touch!

Come on Bill...!

Bill, there is a very big difference between you and Ms. Perino. Ms. Perino is paid to express the party line of the Bushists (as despicable as that is) not her own personal beliefs or editorial. You on the other hand are paid to express your personal beliefs and create editorial from that.

So... we hate the message in both instances, but since the message comes from you personally Bill, we hate you. Nothing personal though, really. Just a belief that we needn't become the hateful, elitist society run by morons and assholes that you envision.
