What historians are going to say??? Screw that! This is an emergency, this is a catastrophe! This is a crime!
[Read the article: Invading Iraq, revisited and then revised]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gates response of "It was clear the the food for peace program -- the Oil-for-Food Program was failing, it was totally corrupted, and the money was being diverted. It was clear that the sanctions were weakening." etc. is just parroting the neo-con hogwash that got us to the horrible place that we are in now.
Goddammit! What are we talking about here! Whatever was going on in Iraq, before we invaded (to quote George Galloway MP Bethnel Green) "over a pack of lies", it cannot compare to the truly heinous statistic that ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND lives have been lost as a result of our Crimes Against the Peace, Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes.
Come on Senators! The Emperor has no clothes. In fact, the Emperor is a megalomaniac with the blood of over a million Iraqis and over three thousand of our own citizens deaths on his hands. All for a pack of lies.
There should be no other job in front of you then stopping this war immediately, and impeaching the worst of all presidents from his 'job' thereby stopping his complete and utter destruction of all that he touches. Otherwise you are guilty of aiding and abetting the numerous war crimes that have and are occurring.

Simpson is "extremely lucky she followed the instructions or deadly force would have been used."
[Read the article: Is Star Simpson's "fake bomb" just an art jacket?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yeah.. she's lucky. We should all thank our lucky fucking stars that we are not all subject to unreasonable search and seizure, that there are laws guiding the surveillance of our citizens, that we have a document that is the law of the land, above all other laws in the form of constitutional rights and that.... oh... wait a minute... never mind.... I forgot.

When is a benchmark not a benchmark?
[Read the article: Slip sliding away]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Answer: When it is a stated goal by the Bush administration.
Some math: One Million Two Hundred Thousand Iraqi's have lost their lives in this war that we started without actual provocation. You might believe the number to be higher or lower... but as such, with 600 billion already spent on this war crime, that means that $500,000 dollars has been spent for each man, woman and child murdered since we invaded. Money well spent?
What do you think people? Time to fund this war for another Two Hundred Billion dollars as requested by the Bushist junta?

Sailing free on the Titanic....
[Read the article: The GOP gets gaudy in Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]By the sounds of the orchestra, it seems like there's quite a party going on upstairs in the ballroom. Geez... next time I book myself on the Titanic, I'm not going to get a ticket in steerage.

With what army, what money and what right?
[Read the article: Turning Ahmadinejad into public enemy No. 1]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We have spent 600 billion of borrowed money to fund an illegal war in Iraq. This works out to $500,000 dollars for each of the one million, two hundred thousand Iraqi people murdered in this bona fide war crime. At the moment, we are in the midst of a civil war that we instigated, and preside over the shattered infrastructure of a country that we invaded and destroyed. There is no coherent plan to rebuild or even bring together Iraq.
Now we want to engage Iran, a country that is five times larger then Iraq? With what money? With what troops? With what right? The Bushists are guilty of numerous war crimes, and these need to be addressed immediately. We do not need to continue to fund a war that only brings further death and destruction to a country that we had no right to invade.
Anyone who supports this war is aiding and abetting the furtherance of these numerous war crimes. The rhetoric and lies that have marked the entire tenure of Bush and his worst of all administrations must be stopped. There is no reasonable plan that has come from these delusional people. The United Nations and the rest of the international community must step up and call for a new direction that would include a true coalition of those willing to bring peace to a region that we are responsible for destroying.
Iran is a sovereign nation that has not fired a shot at us. I doubt that they will, no matter what these assholes in Washington and their mainstream media shills claim. One million, two hundred thousand murdered already in this war of hubris and ill judgement. Our own economy is in the midst of a shell game to hide the true cost to our economic health and the burden that this debt will ultimately be shouldered by the American people.
So, again, with what army, with what money and with what right do we have to invade the nation of Iran? Since every single claim that this administration has made about Iraq has been either false or a lie (you pick), logic would dictate that the current bilious rhetoric vomiting forth from the neocon spin machine is also false or outright lies.
The only thing that amazes me is that the democratic majority, put in place by the American people to end the Iraq war have not done so as yet. The madness must end, or we as a nation of laws will no longer exist as such.

Apple breaking the law?
[Read the article: Apple: Unlocked iPhones may break when updated]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If I own an Iphone, and unlock it, that is my business, because it is my Iphone. If the company that built it then creates specific software code to 'brick' my Iphone, then they are issuing malware specifically to damage my property. Surely there is a law against that!
