"the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice" MLK

I guess we just need to wait for another generation to die before we can judge each other solely on the content of our character. Sad thing is: I thought we already had.

More sadness anyone? Polls like this are counterproductive in race relations.

Let's look at Barry's character. Let's judge him on that. It has been proven that steroids were mailed to Barry's house. He has had affairs. (A woman he had an affair with said he used steroids). He is a selfish teammate. He treats the press with little respect.

If Martin Luther King were around, he would urge African Americans to judge Barry by the content of his character. Instead, tragically, the African American community has lost their moral leaders. They turn to hypocrites like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for guidance and they get bile and flames throw back at them (and they think these are the tools with which to combat racism). Of course race will always be an issue if black leaders are offense-mongers instead of benevolent visionaries.

Do you think O.J. killed those people? ………….

Anyone read Keillor the other week?

He touched on this topic. I would suggest reading his take.

Children are the ones who have difficulty acting selflessly and children are the ones who ask questions every sentence.

In the kindest way: Grow up and act like an adult. Your kids' wellbeing is more important than 'if you've withdrawn your heart, or if you could inject it somewhere.' You had your childhood, you walked through adolescence. Now it is time to realize that your happiness is secondary to your child's. I know that's difficult comprehend, and, sadly, most people are too selfish to do so - but it is the right thing to do.

Add another to the list

Roger Clemens is from Ohio. I don't like him, but I think we'll all admit we wouldn't want to face him. So is Steinbrenner. I don't like him, but I think we'll all admit we wouldn't want to disappoint him.

Let's go LeBron. Time for a title.

Please

We all saw Millions. I'm getting really tired of everyone exclaiming everything is spot on. Think of something different.

On this topic. I once was lost. I found God. The strength I've gained cannot be denied. If you guys don't want to acknowledge God, it's okay, I was the same way. It was too tough to believe. Then my life became tougher than I could believe. Then I found God. Please, if you aren't religious and you hate people who are - keep it to yourself. If you don't, that's okay, for you know not what you do. I forgive you.

INFL

InterNational Football League. Ridiculous. Rational, but ridiculous. I could rail against it, but, as you implied King, I'll hate it when I see it.

Derek Fisher is the man. I love it when stories like this arrive in the morning paper - on the sports page. It makes you say, "Wow, they're not all making it rain or getting DUIs or beating their female or training fighing dogs or killing neighbors' horses or fighting fans in the crowd or kicking photographers or doing steroids or other drugs - there is this Derek Fisher guy and Ken Griffey Jr." (sorry, I couldn't help myself)

NFL in Germany? Didn't we uncover a terrorist plot today which called for the murder of U.S. tourists in Germany? Not so sure if I'm heading back to the fatherland to catch that Cardinals/Titans matchup.

"it's tough being an atheist and a sports fan."

really? What's so difficult?? The staring at the television, or the not believing in anything? Seems to me like that's a pretty un-tough afternoon.

Let's just say he played Eminem and Salon was Kim. It was pretty funny.

Race?

Why is it always about race. Legs or no legs or fake legs, it's all about race. Always. I'm glad I've had this pointed out.

What makes you more likely to be harassed?

Working with pigs. Regardless of how a woman acts, if a man is a pig, he may harass her. A woman can act like Paris Hilton or Janet Reno - if she is around pigs, she may be harassed.

I appreciate your comments. Please keep them coming. Similarly to how it takes Nancy to clean up the House, I think it takes men to clean up feminism.

Anyone catch The Onion last week? It was PRICELESS.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 01:56 PM

I winced too...

because I knew how deeply some of those articles would cut a feminist. But, I'm only there for laughs, and there were plenty of them. Especially homoring was the college girl saying she's a femanist only when it benefits her.

Right on.

Great article King.

FYI – I’m about to conduct a study correlating black players being suspended by white commissioners. It’s a topic which has gone unstudied for far too long. If anyone has any money they would like to grant me for this project, please go to my website, whitepeoplearebadpeople.com and make a donation. Thanks.

Ken Griffey Jr. is back.

Simple question

Since I only watch NBA basketball on accident, I can't comment. I can't comment. But I can question. Is Raja ebonics for Roger?

You think there's something wrong with the NBA game? How about college? The game has drifted so far away from the basket that Greg Oden's dominance means nothing. They had to move the three point line back - because, at its current distance, the game could be won by a bunch of Jimmy Chitwoods as opposed to Odens or Hibberts.

I have trouble believing David Stern is wrong about anything. After watching Artest and Jackson maul half of Detroit, I think keeping eight foot humans away from fights is commendable. No?
