Yeah, softdog, everything the LW is doing is just dandy!

As long as we expect neither accountability nor reason from her, that is.

I guess that tells us something about you.

Monday, March 30, 2009 10:40 AM

Yeah, softdog, serial cheating and spending money one doesn't have are perfectly normal behaviors.

For irresponsible idiots, that is.

Now we know what you are.

Monday, March 30, 2009 11:01 AM

Yeah, marc22309, God forbid she should admit the truth.

After all, as long as you hand-wave away all the possible consequences, there aren't any consequences, right? And isn't it better that the LW's boyfriend have the right attitude about women than that he should know the truth?

Sadly, your idea that people should be lied to and have facts hidden from them, so long as they reach the proper conclusions, is one shared by far too many Salonistas. The thing is, the truth has a way of winning out, and a true viewpoint wouldn't need to be defended with lies and evasions.

Does your partner know of your willingness to lie to keep him or her happy? Or did you lie to your partner about that?

Katbo90, you're a psychopath

And sadly, your brand of conscienceless crap is condoned and encouraged by assholes like marc22309.

Both of you should stop using your broken value systems to decide what others should be okay with. marc, you don't get to make that call for the LW's boyfriend, so shut up. Kat, go to hell.

ideefixed got it right

If this letter was from a guy, Broadsheet would demand his real name and address and Joan would be chiming in.

Exactly right. Salonistas are quick to enable women behaving like crap toward men. It's one of the most disgusting things about this forum.

Fraud, b'Gawd!

Did you know that Dear Prudence published a response to this same letter today?

I am sorry to be the bearer of this terrible, unexpected, previously unrevealed news.

I have a feeling we're seeing a trend that will be reproduced in the responses to future Cary Tennis columns. Every day, someone's going to claim that the letter also ran on Slate. It's gonna be the rickroll of Salon! We can call this game...Cary Tennis!

Original article: There's an angel in my life

And if the sexes were reversed...

...we'd hear from the usual harpies about how every woman has a Goddess-given right to satisfy her every whim, that any man who objected was a sexist controlling pig, blah blah empowerment blah blah jealousy blah blah blah.

Instead, the harpies and the white knights tell him not to do it.

Shut the fuck up.

Monday, April 27, 2009 07:50 PM

Reverse the sexes...

...and you have a large number of marriages today, possibly a majority.

For many women, work is optional. For most men, it isn't.

TCF probably thinks...

...that "Lysistrata" is one of her STDs.

Salon psychopathy at work

So on the one hand, you want and expect Obama to appoint a "progressive" (read: loony left) candidate, but on the other hand you disdain Republicans for anticipating that he will do this.

Salon psychopathy is a mental disorder in which one despises the opposition for acting as if they had free will and free agency. They would deny their opposition the right to exist or resist, if they could.

Never vote for any candidate favored by Salon psychopaths.

Apply to be an advice columnist at Salon

Alcoholic past, no real job skills, bad boundaries, too much information...if anything, you're overqualified.

Thursday, May 7, 2009 02:27 PM

Sounds great, Cary!

So why not keep shutting up and let the LW take your job?

Monday, May 11, 2009 10:33 AM

Emo narcissist seeks same to pay attention to HER HER HER

Yeah, that plan makes a lot of sense.

LW, the world is only marveling that you wrote your letter to an emo narcissist advice columnist. Way to stay on pattern!

I notice Cary is still whining about that "boundaries" remark. Obviously the truth hurts.

Monday, May 11, 2009 02:44 PM

@lamoyne

I request a clarification: Is a "horse chick" a woman who likes horses and has the income or family background to enable her to own and stable them? I hope it's not a remark about her appearance; that doesn't sound too good to me.

Monday, May 11, 2009 02:56 PM

@lamoyne

Hey, just checking. Some people like the horsey look. Besides, you can't spell "lamoyne" without the letters "L-A-M-E".

Thanks for the clarification!

Monday, May 11, 2009 03:16 PM

Yeah, LW, aspire to more

Someday you can be a self-congratulating, pretentious idiot who can't spell simple French words correctly.

Monday, May 11, 2009 05:52 PM

This advice was typical Cary Tennis

Cary caters to narcissistic women, and nowhere more so than in this case, where he suggests that the LW fall in love with her narcissism.

As the late Donald Westlake once wrote, the frightening thing about women like the LW is not that they are a pretty package with nothing inside. That's not so bad. The problem is that the only thing inside the package is thoughts about the package.

The usual harpies thought his advice was great. I couldn't agree less.

Monday, May 11, 2009 06:11 PM

Here's a revolutionary idea

Find something worth doing that appeals to you, get whatever training you need to do it, then work hard at it.

Man up, LW, and play the hand you've got. It's not as if you have a choice.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009 10:15 AM

"Ambushed"?

Yeah, like she said this in the privacy of her own home. Like she didn't use the media to spread her idiotic message. Like she hadn't received any public criticism for it already. Like Fox's bias isn't well-known.

Ambush? Only if she's as stupid as the average Salon reader.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009 03:21 AM

Ah, yes, the child is HER property...of course!

It's amusing how many of you think it is okay for her to steal the child. Women don't own their children, and fathers do have rights. Salonistas like to forget that fact, of course.

As for those asserting that the LW is a victim of domestic violence, it sounds more like she is a PERPETRATOR of domestic violence. Do women also have the unilateral right to abuse their husbands?

Salon sexists are human garbage.
