@The chick is clearly iron-willed and rigidly dogmatic.

Quote:

"The chick is clearly iron-willed and rigidly dogmatic."

The democrats are going to have to fight fire with fire .....barrage for barrage.

The democrats are going to have to learn quickly to deliver distorted half-truths in an angry and self-righteous tone.

If Obama thinks this behavior might undermine his "softspoken, rational" image, turn the job over to someone who can and will do it.

Why isn't Joe Biden doing this ?

This is an old tried and true political technique used in the last days of an election.

This is not about truth and the republicans know that ...... this is total war.

Each day, a different salvo of accusations is thrown before the last ones can be rebutted.

The opponent has no time to catch his breath, let alone persuade the electorate that statements even 2 or 3 days old are untrue as new threats have already been uttered.

Its jabs and short soundbites ...... the democrats must adopt the same tactics or risk failure ....... this is not time for "civilized" discussion.

The media, hungry for any news, should welcome a daily news conference with Biden where a couple of discouraging words could be planted.

Punishment Sets Boundaries

I remember as a child that my mother would take me to the ladies room if I was engaging in disruptive behavior in a restaurant or movie theatre.

She would then tell me "I'll give you something to cry about".

And woe was me if I threw a tantrum in a store because I couldn't have something I want.

Today, I've had both movie and restaurant experiences ruined because some sorry ass "parent" cared only about themselves ...... an expression of the rudeness of the culture.

While working in a pharmacy in a mall, a customer who was an MD and a lawyer used to occasionally bring her two boys into the store where they would inevitably wind-up on the floor wrestling and screaming.

Her response? "Please don't do that" followed by threats without action ...... they ignored her like the idiot she was.

Most generations, including "the greatest generation" dealt with corporal punishment.

"Time outs" and privilege suspension work if carried out with dedication and diligence.

I know, why don't you bribe them with toys or whatever ??? But I warn you this is positive reinforcement for negative behavior.

Willful Ignorance

The american people are willfully ignorant ....... they are too lazy and self-centered to be interested in anything but their consumer/entertain me lives.

And the truth is an inconvenience that might disturb their schizophrenic perverse delusions.

Sometimes I think there is no hope ....... for it is true a country gets the govt it deserves when its citizens are ignorant and superstitious.

The "fourth estate" is now just a pony show form of entertainment.

The corporatists and their running dog lackeys, the govt and the press, laugh and sneer at the conditioned fools (public) who are unable and/or unwilling to think for themselves.

What we have now is a conspiracy of mediocrity among the press which is itself controlled by corporatists .....together they constitute the equivalent of the Soviet Tass news agency.

Former POW Details His Opinion of McCain

This man was a POW for 2 and 1/2 years longer than McCain ...... McCain was just across the hall from him in the same detention center.

Under stressful conditions, one gets insight into the often hidden character tendencies of another person.

Court TV & Reality Shows

Americans are more interested in "dirty laundry" than issues or the truth ...... more perverse "entertainment" I cannot imagine.

@-- farbie

It's very sad ........ if we had reliable media with objective journalists, people wouldn't have to be hanging around forums like this trying to get info.

RE: Pic

Sure looks like a "family values" mom to me .......

Politicians are liars, tricksters, hucksters and not least of all

chameleons ....

Thereby, to choose the president of the US, we fill a football stadium field to standing room only ....... someone stands high in the bleachers, and shoots a paintball.

Whoever the paint ball hits becomes president ....

The so-called "terrorist threat" is just the natural hatred and desire for revenge by some people in middle eastern countries as a result of our intervention and heavy handed policies since the early 50's ........ it is natural and to be expected.

But it is no more a "threat" than it was 20 years ago ........ Al-Quaida itself is the result of and a product of our "so-called friends" , the Saudis ....

9/11 was a catastrophe ...... not because of two buildings because of what it has allowed the govt to do using fear to manipulate the american fools .....

In my opinion, "Homeland Security" (oh Hitler would have loved the name and irony here) was never meant to be anything but a tool to be used against the american people ...... not a witch hunt for "terrorists" - people who don't like us ....

With its huge budget and lierally nothing else to do, it makes Hoover's "I have a file on everybody" shenanigans seem insignificant.

There is no doubt in my mind that "Homeland Security" is nothing but the Gestapo and the central gathering agency now for info on the american people.

Hundreds of millions no doubt spent to harass a few hundred protestors ........ yes, we are proud of our priorities.

@-- Elephantman

Why do you support a party who, unless you are a multi-millionaire considers you a fool and trash?

The original purpose of the National Guard was as protection for the states against a corrupt and rogue federal govt.

The Guard was even conceived as a force to be used by the states to march on Washington if need be.

The American public (fools) sat by and let the Guard be federalized (put under the command of the federal govt and taken from the governors as the intended controllers) by George Bush ....... thus totally neutralizing their original purpose.
