But the whole political process needs to be revamped if we are to avoid the need for a revolution every 20 years.

All Bush has done has expand the govt's power to impact people's lives in a negative way (war, corruption, thievery, spying) while undermining the govt functions that would enrich the lives of the people (govt protection agencies .......EPA, FDA, FCC, imported food and product safety, universal health care, etc).

Such a twisted irrational view is representative of the epidemic of mental illness sweeping the country.

Over 250 billion dollars of pharmaceutical drugs were sold last year (which is the same as was spent on gasoline). As a pharmacist, I would say at least 50% of them (including narcotics) were psychotropic drugs.

Under the republicans since reagan, deregulation has become the holy grail of thieves, con men and murderers.

Under Bush and the republicans, agencies that were established to protect the health and welfare of the american people were hijacked (thru appointment of political lackeys ...... which should be illegal)and castrated (thru the denial of funds needed for personnel and enforcement).

The EPA, the Justice Dept, agencies responsible for inspecting food and product imports are a few that come to mind.

The Congress sat idly by while the pharmaceutical companies pushed thru a funding bill which essentially made the FDA their handmaiden. Numerous deaths and drug recalls have ensued.

All the while, Wall Street profited with obscene profits and salaries for their CEO's and directors while the true costs was born on the backs of the american public.

The democrats sat idly by and allowed it to happen.

Both parties are guilty and their members should be banned from any public positions.

This is what happens when your country has been run by criminals for 20 years and the public is wilfully ignorant and brainwashed into consumerism.

Go to Washington ....... physically remove the worthless bastards from the public buildings.

Sell your house if you have to and live in a travel trailer. There may actually come a time when you regain your self-respect and can look yourself in the mirror again. You will own yourself and be nobody's pawn.

Manufacturing jobs (thru which true "wealth" is created), have been shipped abroad.

Anything that could not be sub-contracted abroad (including professional jobs such as engineering, etc) was filled with illegal labor where possible.

Even our pharmaceuticals are now made in China, India, and eastern europe.

We no longer have a real economy. We no longer produce wealth.

We just "manage money".

The US is now a "service economy" with distribution and consumption. That's it.

The only way to maintain the economy and try to expand it was to loan money to people (credit) who could no longer (for the reasons listed above) earn it.

But eventually a time comes when people have more debt than they can make payments on ........ we have arrived at that point.

900,000,000 dollars is not going to give us a real economy again.

The end of the ride has come.

The solution for the credit crunch is for people to live within their means. A shrinking of the economy will occur but in the end, people will be better off ....... you are not what you own.
