Some people say that our country is headed toward a recession. The solution is to buy more stuff.

We all want more stuff. We all need more stuff. We all have to have more stuff.

I need more stuff. You need more stuff. Your children need more stuff. Your parents and grandparents need more stuff. Your dog and cat need more stuff.

Our churches and schools need more stuff. Our houses need more stuff.

We need more Wal-Marts so we can all buy more stuff.

The Chinese need to make more stuff so we can buy it.

We need more jobs so we can buy more stuff.

We need higher paying jobs so we can buy more and bigger stuff.

No matter what kind of problem you have ..... physical, emotional or mental, having more stuff will solve it.

Buying stuff is the path to happiness.

Therefore, if we cover the world with stuff, everybody will be happy.

More stuff makes us feel special and important. It makes us feel successful and better than other people. Having stuff makes us more than we really are.

People will respect us if we have more stuff.

Everybody knows that the terrorists hate us because we have more stuff.

I want to see stuff in our houses, in our trash cans, lying beside the road, in our forests, in our lakes and ponds and in our seas and oceans.

Actually, we already have that don’t we? Just ignore that part.

Some people say that buying more stuff is an addiction, an endless journey, a threat to the social structure of our families and society and is destroying our environment.

I say these people are communists and socialists.

After 9/11, while the country was still in shock, President Bush came on television to tell us to go the malls to buy more stuff to fight terrorism.

Buying stuff is what made the US the great country it is today.

Buying stuff is what it means to be an American.

So, buy more stuff and keep America strong.

Wars are fought, people are rejected, persecuted and punished because of "religious" conflicts .....

Because, as George Carlin said, "Your invisible man is different than my invisible man."

Before the questions to make it more entertaining ...... they could have brought in Oral Roberts ....

We stole this land from the native americans after killing most of them.

Don't see that advocated in the New Testament.

But the Jews did conquer and steal their "Promised Land" from the "heathen" in the Old Testament.

I find it offensive that our money has "In God We Trust" .....

Face it, the real "God" of the USA is mammon.

I've noticed some sniping in some of the letters Obams vs Clinton etc.

I work with a group of people who come from various social and economic backgrounds.

Neither the democrats or the republicans are comfortable with their candidates.

The independents are complaining that once again they have no choice ....... feeling that they just don't know what to expect from Obama but don't like the "warmonger" posturing of McCain.

I have a feeling that many of these people will go to the polls in november but will not vote in the presidential election ..... not wanting "blood on their hands" if something goes awry.

Strangely though, I have heard no one arguing for their own special self-interests as the reason for their attitudes.

I think people are just looking for someone who still has the ethics and guts to do what is right and fair.

Bowing to special interests groups is not what they want to see .......

That's what got us to the present situation.

It would be pretty boring if everyone agreed here ...... there is much possibility to learn from those who disagree with you ......... hey, how are you going to sharpen your skills if you're just saying "@xyz ....... I agree with you """

I hope you reconsider ....... your absence will make this a "poorer" community.

We have to move beyond "whose ox is gored" ........ fairness and fact have to take the place of special interests.

Due to use of fast moving special effects in movies (if they don't move fast, they don't look real) ......video games, channel surfing, etc, etc, most people have the attention span of gnats.

Book reading is at an alltime low ....... after all, you actually have to concentrate and think ......

Movies that have plots and develop characters are considered boring .....

Loads of sugar in our diets and drugs for our kids who mysteriously have ADD (hell, they've forgot how to actually play and get physical exercise) ......... xanax for anxiety ...

People don't have the patience to watch anything where there is not constant movement.

Shows even the democratic leadership itself lacks ethics, principles and integrity ....... they "flopflop" just like the candidates do ....

They really believe in nothing ........... except winning ..... more amoral scum to run the country.
