The history of organized religion is largely one of a lust for power and greed for money ......... oppression and murder, division rather than wholeness and separation (we're better than you and have the truth) rather than cooperation.

I find most "religious organizations' to have the mentality of "accept our "truth" or we will bury you."

Large organizations of any type can acquire power and power corrupts.

There is no doubt that there are members within all organized religions that have reached the consciousness of Jesus, or Buddha, etc but largely the various "faiths" show no signs of having become what they claim to believe in.

Religion in the USA is largely a business ...... there are exceptions of course.

Most rich churches are simply Country Clubs where tithes replace dues ....... but they do make the members "feel" better about themselves.

Hypocrisy is always the worst of offenses and at its base is always deceit and manipulation.

Jesus was angered more by hypocrisy (particularly that of the priests) than he was the "sins" of the tax collectors and whores.

Hypocrisy breeds cynicism and numbs the emotions and spiritual consciousness.

Yet, we admire those politicians whose crafty political cunning allows them to fool the masses. This is nothing but hypocrisy and cynicism on their part.

As you know, the Catholic Church, which was responsible for the persecution and murder of Joan of Arc recently made her a saint.

I went thru 12 years of school and saw only one pregnancy.

Education can reduce pregnancies but there will always be those whose ill-conceived motivations or mental immaturity will result in their becoming pregnant.
