The bankers were handled with kid gloves and yet what were the headlines screaming for days before the event ...... that the bankers were going to be sorely treated and forced to come clean about where the money went.

That was written to fool the unwashed masses that something was going to be done.

People who bought houses they couldn't afford on the premise they were going to make lots of money doing so because the prices of houses would continue to escalate, were just as greedy and irresponsible as the Wall Street Investment Banks ....... only on a smaller scale.

No one should have been bailed out ........ now you have a situation of "moral hazard" created by the govt ....... if you now don't bail everybody out, you can be accused of being biased and/or unfair.

Ultimately, it is the responsible people who will have to pay for the burdens of the bankers and the mortgage risk takers.

And that is patently unfair.

The people who bought houses they couldn't afford with "creative" mortgages were making a gamble ..... taking a risk ...... just like buying stock or rolling dice at a crap table.

Had they won, they wouldn't be bitching.

You play the game ...... you accept the risks ..... if you lose, then you "eat it" and learn.

And there are many instances where they have saved innocent lives and many more where they could have if they had been present in the hands of victims.

I carried a pistol when I lived in Boston and almost had to use it on several occasions.

Face it, there are evil murdering predators of the jungle level just as there are evil murdering predators of the higher level (politicians, bankers, corporate greedsters, investment bankers, etc.).

And if the lady who friend was mauled by the chimp had her own gun, she wouldn't have called 911 and screamed for the police to come and do what was necessary and her friend would not be in the fowl shape she is in .....

Violent force usually can only be opposed with violent force ...... that is just a fact.

And our warped culture seems to produce more than its share of predators.

I can name a thousand things are that are a threat to the citizens of this country ..... real threats ..... and guns carried by law-abiding citizens is not one of them.

That the banks and the real estate moguls won't be the biggest benefactors from this bill ?

Seems like another indirect handout to the bankers ....
