@-- Palindromedary RE: Sinclair

Exactly right ....

Here in eastern NC, we have problems with huge pig farms ..... like large corporate chicken farms, they treat their "product" with disdain.

Its all about efficiency and profits ....

When I was a child, all farmers, including those who raised tobacco, corn, etc., had a pig or two and maybe a cow for their own personal family use.

There were commercial pig farmers but they only provided quantities for the local market and they didn't raise their pigs in little stalls ...... they were raised in large fenced dirt areas.

This is what happens when local economies or even whole states no longer produce their own food but import it from (and this is literally true) god knows where. You won't see any commercially viable farms around large cities even in North Carolina now. Haven't seen any pig or cow farms around San Francisco or the Napa Valley lately have you ???

As "unskilled" labor is shipped to poor communities and 3rd

world countries and urban development and sprawl makes the land too expensive to use for farming, you going to see more and more nasty surprises.

A local economy for food production is the absolute best for quality and accountability but how do we promote it ???

I would be willing to pay more for meat that is raised in a less destructive way.

Corporate agriculture is just one area out of many where we're now learning that those things we thought were our greatest strengths are also our greatest weaknesses.

They must have confused the arabs/terrorists with the American Indians ....

Except this time is was oil rather than land they wanted to steal .......

"Financial Instruments" ???? The world is mad .....

No wonder we're in the hole we're in ....

I've read that banks and other entities bought cds's against mortgage securities owned by other banks (it wasn't even their debt) ....

That's like me buying life insurance on people I don't know without their permission.

You got it ....

Some call it a double-standard ...... some call it hypocrisy ....

The bottom line is that they think they are better than the people they are supposed to represent ....

One term is all it takes for them to become swell-headed and self-important ...... irritated by the stupid rabble that they must deal with back home ....

The American People ....

Willfully historically ignorant ...... unconscious

Only fools believed that all the survellance apparatii established by the Bush Administration were to be used against foreign national terrorists.

Its primary intention was to be used against american citizens who might awaken to the fact that they have been sold out by the last 3 administrations and now the govt and congress are running dog lackeys for the corporations and the MIC.

Too bad the national guards of the states (which the american people sat by and let Bush nationalize) aren't available to march to Washington and overthrow the govt as the founding fathers intended.

RE : Colonies Founded On Christianity ...

Apparently their god had no use for native americans since they killed most of them and stole the land we're now living on.

My Understanding Is That Most ....

...... of the founding fathers were deists .....

http://freethought.mbdojo.com/foundingfathers.html

I like the funny part I have pasted below .....

"The Declaration of Independence gives us important insight into the opinions of the Founding Fathers. Thomas Jefferson wrote that the power of the government is derived from the governed. Up until that time, it was claimed that kings ruled nations by the authority of God. The Declaration was a radical departure from the idea of divine authority."

Yeh, the part about the power of the govt being derived from the government ...... it could be that way but .....

Anybody who knows about the history of the Catholic Church knows the dangers of mixing religion with government.

Lose - Lose

If Obama made statements during the election process that were false or misleading, he lacks integrity.

If he is afraid, you must acknowledge the existence of a "shadow government" in apparent control of everything but the consumer economy ....... a "shadow govt" which cannot be changed or removed thru the ballot box.

@-- bystander

This is the kind of shit that happens when the balance of powers is disturbed.

Neither branch should have appointment power in any other branch.

A Constitutional Convention could address this issue as the Congress, which is part of the problem, ain't going to address anything of any significance.

The executive branch should not have the right or power to appoint anyone in the judicial system ....... attorney generals or supreme court justices .....

The DOJ lawyers apparently have giving their consciences over to the authority figure of the president ....they have no integrity, once again showing lawyers are to be held suspect in any case.

The Nazi SS used to carry daggers that had etched on the blade : MY LOYALTY IS MY HONOR .

I think we should buy lapel pins for the DOJ employees so that the public may know where they stand.
