Stilted acting, unrealistic as to how the military really treats "rebels", contrived and worst of all, built upon the existence of something called "red matter" ....... sheesh ...... a children's story at best .....

Yes, a govt active in planning is totally necessary.

The problem is corruption ........ for decades the country has not been operated from a rational plan ...... instead, the interests of a few mega-corps have taken priority.

They want maximum profit now ........ they do not care what the consequences are even one month down the road ...... let alone years ....... they are like a bunch of greedy little kids let loose in a candy store .....

If we had spent our money wisely over the last decade, we could have great schools, affordable colleges, fast efficient public transportation, national healthcare, etc, etc, etc and a social security system producing enough interest to require minimum imput ....

Things will not improve until rational planners with the interests of every citizen in mind lead the country and the vested interests of a few are not allowed to limit our choices, pride and sustainability .....

PS : There is no doubt in my mind that the bank managers in this country, had they been in China, would be in jail (at the least).

Ethical lines can't be crossed ...... crack the door just a bit and a boot will kick it wide open.

All the US has done is insure that in the future it will not be taken seriously when it complains about such treatment when it is one of our citizens/soldiers or those of an "ally" who are at the receiving end of the abuse ....

We have lost our credibility ....... no one likes to deal with hypocrites ....

When Obama chose the same people for his administration that were the architects of the corrupt govt for over a decade, I knew he was not going to take Roosevelt's route.

Still, the Congress has not responded to the demands of the states for a Constitutional Convention ..... a right by law written in the Constitution.

Both parties want to keep it a two-party affair ...... which invites corruption.

We'll see ...... hell, even China is now planning universal health coverage for all its citizens and they have a much larger population than we do.
