Thru the 70's such behavior by a govt would have been associated with Russia, China, and communist or military-governed 3rd world countries .....

Now it is associated with the U.S.

Just as the financial markets did not reach this state over-night but over the last 20 years, the state of the country and its govt also evolved to its present state over a long period of time while its citizens sat back and did nothing.

Nothing can occur in a country unless the people sit back and let it happen.

Thus, were the German people held accountable for the Nazi party's atrocities.

Conditioned to be non-thinking consumers and believing that owning things is the meaning of life (rather than freedom), the american people sat by while their country outwardly became a fascist state.

Like sheep they allow themselves to be easily manipulated by fear. They have no sense of community and worry only about themselves ...... to hell with everybody else.

Their trance is fed by entertainment/stimulation ..... a drug and a sign of an unbalanced mind.

Only when freedom means more to then than more stuff will things change.

In other words, a willfully ignorant and disengaged citizenry has brought this upon themselves and allowed others to define who their enemies are.

Its hard to believe they elected the same evil little gnome twice but as we know both parties are controlled by the same minority elite.

FDR saved millions from untold suffering and probably prevented a revolution that would have seen quite a number of tight-minded ilk of this persuasion hanged by the public.

I agree ....... there are many types of evil ........ from mentally deranged murderers to those who are greedy for "power" and money.

Greed is based in fear and is a type of mental illness ..... for such minds there is never enough ....... of anything.

Consideration is given to nothing or no one except self ...... even though the true needs of the self (a person who is "whole" - mentally sane) are minimal.

Child-molesters are viewed as perverse while greedy people who would damage their fellow human beings, other life species and the planet itself are not.

I would argue that our whole culture is mentally ill in its values, beliefs and perceptions.

Until our culture evolves to the point where greed is socially unacceptable, I don't think things will change.

Are necessary to produce a neutral and non-distracting environment for public schools.

Everything has its time and place.

They can dress and act like they want at home, in college and when they're on their on.
