  • Not Americas Problem

[Read the article: Israeli ground troops move into Gaza]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I couldn't give two shits who "owns" the "holy land". It is not our job to prop up another countries military. All funding needs to be cut off. Helping an ally is one thing but not questioning what they do and why while continuing to fund their army is just asinine. America was founded by kicking indegenous(sp) people out of their homes. We were in the wrong, no question. So why would we want to help someone else do the same? Shouldn't we try and make up for it by not helping it happen to someone else? Yes, Hamas is shooting rockets into Israel, but let's be honest here, if someone ran you off your land can you honestly say you wouldn't do the same? If America is going ot stick it's nose into this mess at all (something I am wholey against) then we need to be much more evne handed if a peace deal is even going to be considered.

Of course I wouldn't support it but I also don't think we shouldn't be helping in the reverse either. Right now that's exactly what we're doing. We are helping someone else do what we did to the American indians. Under those circumstances I'm having a hard time not sympathizing with the palestinians.

  • The scary thing is...

I've had this exact same conversation almost word for word on my local newspaper website.

  • Give them nothing

[Read the article: How far should Obama go for GOP support?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

They are the enemy. They lost. They get nothing. Time to punish them for the Bush years. If they complain send our pundits on national television to question their patriotism and accuse them of trying to undermine America. End of partisanship my ass. Make them pay.

  • Why is anyone still giving this bitch air time?

[Read the article: Bateman: Ann Coulter on presidential assassins]

One would tink throwing around the word "faggot" would disqualify you from any future appearances. I wonder if they would have given her a post if she had used the word "nigger" so casually.

  • Where are all these republican bed-wetters coming from?

[Read the article: How far should Obama go for GOP support?]

My favorite was the idiot who said we hate the republicans because we need an enemy. Yes, becuase starting wars based on lies and suspending Habius Corpus had nothing to do with it. Idiot! Since we're on the subject, how about your baseless Clinton hatred? You lost, bigots. Time to leave the country and found that free-market theocracy you all want so badly. You won't be missed.

Either get behind our president the same way you told us to for Bush because the country is still at war or have the balls to stand on conviction for a change nad turn yourselves in for treason for questioning the CIC during a time of war.

  • He may fall into Obama's tax bracket...

[Read the article: Joe the Plumber's now Joe the Reporter]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

if he keeps accepting these stupid offers. Maybe that was the plan all along. Let me guess, the guy was a full on Iraq war supporter who has never been within a mile of an actual artillery shell and has never seen combat outside his TV. The guys gonna wet his pants the moment Gaza starts firing back. That might be worth watching. All these armchair warriors are cowards at heart.

I'm curoius what "anti-Israeli bias" they are talking about. I guess if a right wing source says there is one, there will always be tax-dodging, unlicensed plumbers/tow truck operators/ concrete mixers/whatever that will take it at face value.

  • Tell me again about that "liberal bias", Ann

You know, the same one that keeps giving you free air time to sell your latest waste of trees.

  • It's the whole democratic party.

[Read the article: Can Harry Reid do anything right?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't think it's a coincidence that every single democrat given power keeps rolling over. Reid, Pelosi, even Daschle. The only one that had any spine was Dean and the media shot him down because he yelled too loud. Someone needs to stand up to not just the republicans but the media and even the party itself. The GOP tried to impeach our guy for cheating on a wife they all hated anyway. We can't even get our leaders to stand up to a war that has since been proven was a lie from the beginning. We need to start adopting republican strategies. Starting with attacking the media for not getting off their fucking asses and calling bullshit on things like flag pins and other distraction issues.

  • Now come the trolls

[Read the article: W. and the damage done]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Now of course are going to come pages and pages of right wing trolls trying to gloss over Bush's failures by blaming everything on Clinton and the democrats and making excuses for why the Iraq war is somehow not Bush's fault.

Bush failed because he was never qualified in the first place. Even if 9/11 had never happened this frat boy would have run America into the ground. He was elected for all the wrong reasons in 2000 so it shouldn't come as any surprise he doesn't know how to do anything. The only reason anyone voted for him was because he said Jesus a bunch of times or they thought they were going to get back a bunch of money they never made in the first place.

George W. Bush said more about the state of America in the late twentieth century then we were ever willing to acknowledge on our own. He is the end result of a society that is so successful we can afford to elect our leaders based on nothing more then who someone else wants to marry or some other trait that has nothing to do with fixing actual problems. And that is exactly what we got, someone who can't fix any problems. Because he was never elected to in the first place. He was elected to overturn Roe or make it easier for people to buy assault rifles they never needed or cut taxes you never really paid but think you did because you listened to some guy on the radio who knew you didn't in the first place tell you you did. Distraction and selfish ignorance got Bush elected and we the world as a whole paid the price.

Those of us who never fell for this stupidity have paid more dearly then most because we realized early on this man was never qualified but still had to live through him anyway. Let's hope society as a whole has learned something too.
