I don't know why anyone expects Bush to learn anything.

This is a man who has been shielded from the consquences of his actions his entire life. To expect him to apply forsight now is a little niave. This man values loyalty above all else and the public isn't likely to notice as they have been sick of him for over a year. What better time to do this then when no ones looking.

To all the whiners bitching about Clinton's pardons...

Clinton didn't start an unnecessary war based on lies. His supporters didn't accuse anyoen who questioned him of treason. Your right to complain doesn't exist.

also shows how far removed from the land you are

Is that why YOUR the ones who oppose preserving the environment, becuase WE'RE the ones "removed from the land"?

Idiot.

BTW: I live in Missouri and there is a farm right behind my back yard. But of course since all the stereotypes about you stupid hicks are true, I guess you assumed the ones about us are also.

Hey, Whipcracker...

Where's bin Laden now? Oh, that's right, still running around free! Bang up job your "terrorism" fighting president did! Loser. I'll chalk up your outbursts as part of your irrational hatred of Clinton.

The people who need to "get over it" are the Obama haters

The same ones who refused to accept that he won the nomination properly and acted as though Hillary was entitled to it to make up for all the indignities women suffered. Salon was at the top of that list. I expect Salon to let Obama off the hook for anythng he does since that's what they would obviously do if Hillary had won.

Two words: Iraq War

The fact that these "experts" didn't put up much of a fight in the run up to the Iraq War is reason enough to completley dismiss anything they have to say.

How much progress has really been made?

40 years ago, the black community rose up against the institutionalized bigotry they suffered. 40 years ago, the gay community did the same. The result? We now have a black president for whom a good chunk of the people who voted for him still see gays as potential pedophiles. A decade of "Will and Grace" episodes and 35 years of Elton John albums can't seem to make the same kind of dent in the gay rights issue that some no name preacher in the middle of bumfuck Iowa seems to be able to. How much more does the gay community have to endure before they recieve acceptance?

To my knowledge, the churches have not accepted responsibility for the Bush catastrophe.

And this is exactly why they should not be taken seriously in any attempt to be societies "moral guardians". Remove the plank from your own eyes, folks. I think the real reason why the churhces are having a hard time fighting against homosexuality is because they have no interest in what causes same sex attraction in the first place. The lack of any intellectual curiousity has been a detriment in many areas but in this case, it could be their downfall.

The christian community has a lot to answer for as far as gays are concerned. Not just marriage but claiming AIDS was God's punishment. To my knowledge, none of the groups or individuals who perpetuated this idea have ever apologized. Next time some christian says that gay marriage should not be permitted because they are afraid their children will be taught the "gay lifestyle" in schools, just remind them of this.

Just do what I do...

Chalk up all opposition to gay marriage as hatred of gays and dismiss anyone who says they don't as liars.

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 06:14 PM

Elephantman

The book deserved to be burned becuase the church was pushing to undo other people's marriages. Though I don't believe in "hate crime" legislation (since it's not a crime ot hate something, how can it be a "hate crime"?). Like all opponents of gay marriage, you hate gays.

MadTV was cancelled?

When was this decided? Despite spending much of the Bush years being a whore for their policies (at the behest of Fox management I'm sure) I still enjoyed it most of the time. I give "Greys" another couple seasons before it's cancelled. It seems like one of those flash in the pan shows that once it starts to go downhill, it will be a fast trip. Wasn't "Housewives" on the verge of cancellation last season?

The sad thing is...

that after eight years of Bush, half the country STILL wouldn't get this joke!

@ Spectacular

Thank you.

Can we assume that this means...

you don't have to answer any direct questions to become the senator from Alaska? If her VP run was any indicater, she'd better hope so! Maybe instead of the GOP paying for her wardrobe it'll be the oil companies!

Someone needs to tell Wallace that Bush is leaving office in a month.

It's okay, Chris, you don't have to defend him anymore.

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 07:40 PM

Was there any vetting process at all here?

This letting criticism through the bubble really sounds un-Bush like to me. I guess because it's their last year they let their guard down a little but I couldn't see something like this happening a few years ago. Knowing what an unpopular figure Bush was, certainly someone in the inner circle should have realized that perhaps it might be a good idea to do a background check on what some of these artists have made before giving them a commision. Unless they really are that oblivious to how much he is hated and it never occured to them. Either way, somebody really dropped the ball here.

Oh, well they all lose their jobs in a month anyway. Why give a shit about the critics now, right guys?

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 08:34 PM

I love it when the right wing trolls come over to play!

They always feel they have to defend war and captialism in the name of Jeeezus! I guess as long as he's not gay anything he does is okay with you guys, right?

Without God democracy will fail. It is the foundation to democracy as per Alexander Tyler.

Prove that democracy needs "God".

traumatic

"Tolerance" is a two way street. I don't know why your masters on talk radio never bother to tell you that part. Christianity threw the first punch.
