There is a good way to get revenge. Make up T-shirts with pictures of Klan members on them and a banner that reads: "Every Prop. 8 supporter". Wear them in the Pride march next year. If the black community are the ones who helped passed this thing, what better way to get revenge. Maybe even have a few with a picture of Hitler.
I seriously doubt that the proposition passed because of overwhelming support from the gay black community. I give them more credit then to shoot themselves in the foot like that.
So let me get this straight, you claim to beleive in "less government" but you think two consenting adults minding their own business should be condemned by society? And you really don't see the contradiction there? What is your peoples obsession with gays? You have no problem throwing poor people under the bus every election but if two consenting adults want to mind their own business somehow THAT is the moral barometer for you. Unbelievable.
You guys complain about being accused of having secret gay urges but what other explaination for this obsession is there? It makes no sense. Of all the more important issues out there that affect so many more people, of all the real problems out there that need to be fixed, this one is your obsession. There is no logical explaination for it. Jesus biggest hang up was poverty, not sex. So how did it get to be yours?
This is why we don't take you seriously when you try and lecture us about "morality", becuase you obviously care more about harrassing two people you don't even know minding their own business then you do about fixing the countries very real problems. I can't help thinking that 40 years ago you would have been on the side of the segregationists.
Based on your original post, I would say YOUR the one who has the problem with different poionts of view. Saying gays should be condemned just for bieng different. How does the bible passage go? "Do unto others..."?
If the republicans, especially someone who built their careers around the "culture wars" like DeMint, want to keep their "moral values" status, they are going to have to purge themselves of the elements that stopped people from buying that claim in the first place. Already they have lost two elections (2006 and 2008) because they are hypocrites. So yeah, the idea that perhaps the party may be over needs to be taken seriously. Demint may not want to do this but he knows he can't go home nad rail against those filthy sodomites living in your nieghborhoods if members of his own party are being convicted of felonies.
Next Pride march make up a bunch of T-shirts with pictures of the Klan and label them "Prop. 8 supporters". Unless there is some kind of consequences for the bigotry, there isn't going to be any "change".
The strangest part was telling this big redneck type he couldn't wear his red "McCain/Palin" shirt into the place because it was electioneering.
Looks like somebodies a sore loser!
If the dems kick Lieberman out, he will happily be picked up by republicans. Obama no doubt knows this and that's why he is willing to forgive. Let's try and keep as many in our camp as possible. Let's learn from the republicans mistakes. At least Dean isn't leaving the party.
It's about gay bashing, plain and simple. Spend any longer then ten seconds on a MSM comments section regarding this issue and it isn't long before the "debate" devolves into an argument about bible qoutes and whose responsible for AIDS. This has nothing to do with who can or can't procreate or what marriage was 500 years ago (a legal contract to resolve land disputes mostly, let's go back to that!), it's about finding a way to stick it to those disobedient fags!
Even most of the non-religious excuses fall apart when you look at the marriages they aren't trying to stop. These people couldn't care less whether or not the woman I marry can have kids, all they care about is that it IS a woman. Let's stop letting them use false excuses for why they oppose this, let's at least pressure them to admit it's because they hate gays. At least the Klan were honest about their bigotry. Maybe the "good old days" were better after all.
Marriage means whatever we as a society says it means. Words aren't carved in stone. Why don't you just admit your a hate monger and get it over with? It's not like we can't see it.
I know that we still have a couple of months before Obama takes office but I really don't want to have to sit and listen to how all these sore loser churches kicked out parishoners for not voting republican. It's time the tax laws were enforced in this country. If they were, this kind of clear electioneering wouldn't even happen. The fact that these churches don't let you make up your own mind is reason enough to walk away from them. Let's hope that's what starts to happen over the next four years as these churhces spend their time trying to undermine everything president Obama does.
If the public wants "less government" (except when it comes to the bedroom, apparently) then how do these people explain Obama's victory? I don't know why everyone expected the republicans to do any real soul searchng, these people don't know how to see anything other then ideological absolutism. The idea that the public doesn't want what they are selling is unthinkable to them. Most of these guys really do believe in creationism so the idea that they might be wrong is beyond their reasoning abilities.
It would be interesting to hear how they account for Obama winning though.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
