  • Where the hell are all these right wing trolls coming from?

[Read the article: Obama's winning argument]

You people do know this is a LIBERAL website, right? I don't know what crazy neo-con site linked you here but they probably should have told you that first. Which means all your rants about undermining a "christian nation" would be seen as a GOOD thing to us. We don't particularly want the government playing religious favortism. And if you truly beleived in less government, you wouldn't either. Funny how many conservaitves only beleive in less government when it comes to the economy.

As for your rants about "Marxism" and "socialism", maybe you need to learn a little something about the democratic platform before you start worrying about the KGB. And I don't mean from Limbaugh or Fox. Same thing goes for the crazy lady who compared Obama to Hitler. All that crap does is make you people look crazy and desperate. If you have to link your opponent to Hitler, it's pretty safe assumption you have nothing left to offer. Just because you people worshipped Bush, doesn't mean we are prone to the same thing. Or maybe you think we are as hateful and controlling as you people are.

  • Why does the republican base WANT stupid leaders?

First Bush and now Palin. What is the matter with these people? I can't help thinking a call like this never would have even gotten to Obama, hell, it probably wouldn't have even made it to McCain. Whoever said she hires people from Liberty U. may not have been too far off. Bush certainly did (until they themselves got into trouble, then they hired REAL lawyers). Yes, this is a handler problem but it is also indicative of how she might run her office. If her assistance can't figure out the difference between the phone number for the French leadership and some radio station up in Canada, then what's going to happen in a real emergency?

I don't know what she was thinking during the conversation though given her bad-mouthing intelligence during the campaign, I can't say that I have a lot of sympathy for the ribbing she will get for this. She did hire her own staff after all, so one way or another, this is still her fault.

  • The Stupid, it Hurts!

"He wants it to be this one big -- I don't know -- it's not America. It's going to be something else, and I don't know what it's going to be."

Well, that's real specific there, Jethro. These people are the Borg, they don't even have their own opinions anymore. They don't even know why they oppose him. The brainwashing has run too deep. If tommorrow their pastor magically changed his mind and decided Obama was the second coming of George W. Bush, they would all beleive it. American christianity is a joke and churches like this one are why. I hope one of President Obama's priorities after the economy is to crack down on the tax exception status of places like this. If these places want to be political ads, make them pay for the air time like everyone else. As for them coming to their senses after Obama doesn't convert anyone to islam, don't count on it. Somehow they will spin it in their own minds that the great republicans protected us from his un-Godly policies.

  • You mean they actually care about real problems?

[Read the article: Racists for Obama]

Fancy that. And all it took was total economic collapse.

It is the right that is obsessed with abortion. As for as we are concenred, it was settled in 1973.

  • How many times has the Culture War died?

[Read the article: Palin: Last of a breed]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Even many conservatives thought it was dead in 1998 after the Clinton impeachment fell through. Two years later we got stuck with Captain Dumbass running largely on those issues. Come back in two or four years and then tell us it's dead. If things start to improve by then, we will see what strategy the GOP employs. I am not counting on gay marriage to be resolved anytime soon on a large scale. And I certainly don't expect abortion to go away either.

Perhaps you'd like to enlighten us wicked liberals, how is it you people can claim to beleive in less government while trying to ban everything your religion doesn't like? You see, I can't quite get your "brothers and sisters in Christ" to answer this question. Guess they don't know how to handle idiological contradictions.

I hope your children get molested by a pedophile and contract AIDS. Comments like yours are why your party is losing.

You act like a con, you get treated like a con. Repeating con talking points makes you a con.

Wow, that made absolutely no sense, just like her reference to Obama being a muslim. But of course since your trying to dodge the real issue here, conservatives claiming to believe in less government while trying to outlaw everything their religion didn't like, I guess that's not really a surprise.

  • Burn down all the churches!

[Read the article: California same-sex marriage ban too close to call]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The gay community in California should go on a massive church torching campaign. Starting with the mormon temples, especially since there not even a real branch of christianity anyway. Just burn them all down.

  • I guess I just feel like there needs to be some accountability for a change.

For the past eight years we've lived under what was essentially a neo-theocracy and what do we have to show for it? Economic collapse and more war. It's past time to start holding the people who put us in this situation accountable. I'm sick of taking the "high road" and getting run off of it! We have nothing to show for our efforts. It is time for these people to pay the piper. They should have to suffer some kind of loss equal to our own. They just shouldn't be allowed to win anymore.

  • Oh please!

[Read the article: Get your Palin 2012 bumper sticker now!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

By 2012 most people will have forgotten about Sarah Palin. The "tax cuts for Jesus" crowd will have found a new Messiah by then. How many people were all that familiar with W. before 1999? Her 15 minutes are done.
