Don't worry about Delay

All that defending child labor and sweatshops has left him plenty of money to keep him warm at night. Everytime some republican calls themselves a christian, just remind them of that.

To all the Klan members defending Prop. 8...

All of your excuses have been debunked over and over again. Tradition? Try slavery. Reproduction? Explain how marriage is necessary to raise kids. Go ahead, I'll wait. Slippery slope? Animals and children don't have the ability to consent and unless you can show how someone only has the ability to be attracted to memebers of thier own family the same way gays only have the abilty to be attracted to members of their own gender, stick a fork in that excuse because it's finished as well. Got anything else?

Oh, that's right, the will of "The People". Let me tell you about "The People". 50 years ago "The People" decided that segregation was good for society. 8 years ago "The People" decided that a C student and baseball owner should be the leader of the most powerful nation on earth just because he said Jesus ws his favorite philosopher. This may come as a huge shock to you, but sometimes "The People" are wrong. That's why these laws can be challeneged in court in the first place. Or maybe you would like to complain about the SC overturning all gun control laws a few months back. They did go against the will of "The People" after all.

Oh and to all those who swear they don't hate gays...

stop lying, we're not stupid. If we didn't fall for the Iraq war, we sure aren't going to fall for that one. You don't go around denying people you like of the same legal benefits you get.

Can I have God's phone number?

Because obviously you do or how else would you know what he thinks? The bible condemns homosexuals to death, in fact. So does that mean that if you aren't stoning them you aren't doing "God's will"? If the only reference to abortion in the bible was a miscarriage, then I would have to say the book takes no official position on the issue. Call me crazy but doesn't the bible also say you shouldn't add or take anything away from it? They are literally pulling this out of their asses.

Cut her some slack

All she knows is her own kind. So naturally she assumes we will do the same thing a bunch of stupid hicks would do in a similiar situation.

I've got news for the LDS church...

This little stunt isn't going to get you any "street cred" with the legitimate branches of christianity. They will never accept you no matter how many gays you bash. Pretend that your "one of them" all you want, it aint gonna happen. In the end all you'll have is a smaller pocketbook and a bunch of gay folks in California (and their allies around the country) resenting you. Maybe if you had learned from your own persecution, you wouldn't have this problem. The evangelicals will never invite you over to play.

When is Salon going to learn...

you can't trust anything Fox or it's employees actually say. And farnsworth, O'Rielly may be calm because he realizes that Colbert is doing his job better then he is and that his time in the spotlight is rapidly running out. From what I hear, his ratings have actiually been going down.

I think many cons are allowing themselves to come to the realization that that promised "permenant republican majority" isn't going to happen. If Obama really does change this country, people like him will have no place in it. Let's be honest, if Fox went belly up tommorrow, no legitimate news organization would take these people in.

Godless? GOOD!!!

In case they haven't been paying attention, 8 years under a "Godly" leader hasn't been working out so well.

So how is the theocracy their trying to create any less opressive then the "socialism" they are so afraid of?

I keep asking this question on my local newspapaer website and either get no response or denial (all while continuing to support oppresing gays and calling for the ten comandments be put up in every government building). When they are ready to actually address their own oppressive policies, then I might consider taking their concerns seriously. Until then, I'll just continue to call them hypocrites.

@tomreedtoon

"That is also what makes Democrats tremble in fear that Obama will lose, and they'll all be sent into camps to die. That fear paralyzes them, and that paralysis and hopelessness is what Democrats enjoy; they may not like going to Palin's Auschwicz, but they seem to be enjoying the cattle-car ride there."

I'm not looking forward to being hauled off to anybodies gas chamber but I think it is niave to ignore the problem. These people hate us. Not simply disagree, HATE US. 20 years of unchallenged talk radio, ten years of Fox News and most of the churches in America have convinced them that compromise is not only unacceptable, it is against the will of God. This kind of indoctrination by every institution is how the Nazis convinced their fellow countrymen that less then 1% of the population was responsible for all of their problems and desensitized their country to their extermination.

In Rwanda, talk radio was used to encourage the mass killings of nieghbors over tribal differences. The threat and power the right wing holds if they don't get their way is truly deadly. We need to take this seriously. What is Rush going to tell his audience on November 5 once Obama is president? What are all these christians who beleive Pat Robertson when he suggests that Obama really will usher in the rise of the anti-christ going to do? What about all those e-mails that said he was a secret muslim? These people really believe this shit and their obsession with guns suggests that they won't tkae a percieved invasion by a foriegn entity very well.

Oh wow...

And all it took was, what, 70-80 screw-ups by Palin for her to come to her senses that it takes more then just a pussy to run the country?
