Of course you realize...

That the GOP showing their true face may not mean anything if the media doesn't SHOW it to the American people. If the only ones reporting on this is the Daily Show then we may have a problem. I don't get MSNBC and I stopped watching CNN when they wouldn't stand up to the administration so I really don't know if they have acknowledged this. I personally am all for a public meltdown of the GOP and think that if Obama actually wins they will lose it completley to the point where they implode and the republican party will have to spend the next two decades apologizing for the Bush/Obama years by putting up severe moderates just to try and win people back.

I honestly beleive we will be looking at an assisination attempt within his first year but more then that is the very real prospect of growing acts of homegrown terrorism. The shooting at the Universalist Church in Tennessee may just be the tip of the iceberg. I welcome these crazy rallies in that I think it shows the public who REALLY votes republican but I really do think that things are going to get a little crazy the first couple years of an Obama presidency. People automatically wanting to found thier own countries in thier backyards becuase thier afraid of the "gov'ment", preachers preparing their congregants for terrorist invasions, the most hard-core conservative states seriously talking about seccession, the republicans looking for any excuse to impeach Obama they can find from the day he takes office. Talk radio has divided this country like never before and made it virtually impossible to reconcile with thier "no compromise" attitude.

The most we can do is point out the contradiction in claiming to beleive in less government while wanting to wage a "culture war".

WHY did she do it?

Your article is suspiciously absent an explaination for this girls motives. I find it surprising how many posters didn't bother to ask this question. Did she send it to everyone in the school or just her friends? Did she send it to her boyfriend and he sent it out? What is the whole story? I can't render judgement without all the facts. And I'm surprised so many others are willing to.

I always thought she was a Jesus freak...

She was homeschooled, she never gets into trouble, and, as far as I know, she hasn't ever done any "mature" movies like Lohan and other child stars. Whooda thunk it.

Oldersinglemom

Voters dress code? I hadn't heard about this one. Where was this at? Is this some new desperate stunt the right is trying to pull to keep poor people from voting? Do you have some link to an article?

I'm sorry but that's a weak excuse.

So your quiting becuase you don't like the negative discourse in America? If your so concerned that the discourse is just going to get worse, wouldn't that be a good reason to stick around? The right has gotten to write the political narrative in this country for the last 20 years thanks to buying up all the talk radio stations and most of the churches. I think now more then ever we need someone out there to bash their heads in for their constant failures attempts to silence us (did you or did you not have your patriotism questioned during the invasion of Iraq?).

If the real reason is becuase of your health then please just say so; we'll understand, really. But if you think for one minute that the conservative gustapo is going to pass by your house unnoticed when they take over just because your writing childrens books now, you are niave. You will be one of the first loaded onto the boxcars and shipped off to the gas chambers to punish you for challenging their attempts to build a "christian nation" all those years ago.

After reading Superman for the first time, Hitler commented that one of the first things he wanted to do when he invaded America was string every cartoonist up from the nearest lightpole. The conservatives would do the same, no doubt. This isn't just about policy anymore, it is about survival. If the recent outbursts at McCain and Palin rallies are any indication, all our lives are in very real danger. And I guarantee you that when you are asked if you have ever voted democrat when they finally come to take you away, "I like turtles" isn't going to be a good enough answer.

A documentary about the voters would have been better

If we really want to understand how this man/child got to be the most powerful person in the world, we probably would be better off with a documentary about the people who elected him in the first place. If the real threat is having it happen all over agian, it seems to me that confronting those who made the mess seems the better way to go. Put them on camera and let them rant about end-times theology and show their barely literate faces to the world. If the whole point is to say to the undecideds or non-voters in this coutnry that they should start giving a shit, showing them the people who picked our last leader and reminding them that these stupid rubes plan to vote again sounds more effective to me.

Let's be honest, the 25% dead enders aren't going to see this thing. Telling the public to not let this happen agian is more effective if you show them how it happened in the first place.

Suddenly, sometime during the Ninetiies, we saw Larry Flynt thrust forward as the liberals' Edmund Burke. However did he acquire such intellectual status with you folk?

Maybe because your side tried to waste taxpayer time and money impeaching the president over a blow-job.

Way to completely miss the boat folks.

The only reason this thing was even made was because the "party of less government" has spent so much time and energy trying to get rid of porn. Just ask John Ashcroft what his first priority as attorney general would have been had 9/11 not happened. Personaly I think a James Dobson/Rick Santorum gay fling would have been more deserving all things considered but this works too.

The interview makes perfect sense....

considering the fact that Joe the Plumber isn't a real plumber either.
