We in America have much to be grateful for that we don't have to go through this every election cycle. As bad as our election system has been, we still aren't being shot for not voting for the ruling party. If only the UN were really the governing body it was supposed to be, nonsense like this madness would be, if not stopped, than at least addressed and given more then a 30 second sound bite on the evening news. The "First World" needs to start caring more about what goes on to the majority population and do more to save them. The butchers of Darfur have still not been held accountable for their actions and we in the west are to blame for not doing more.
"studying Marxists and communists, etc."
You cons are so obsessed with communism you don't even know how to turn it off when you are pretending to be democrats! REAL democrats don't go around calling each other "communists" and "Marxists". That's clue #1 that you are a repub. troll right there. Nice undercover investigating you did before coming here, moron!
This man has bent over backwords to accomidate Hillary Clinton and he is still being attacked by her, yes bitter, supporters. I seriously doubt Hillary would go this far out of her way to accomidate Obama supporters who felt she should not have won. Obama doesn't owe these people anything. In a rational society, we vote for our candidates based on their poliices, not what's in their underwear. Obama shouldn't have to do any more for these people. Either they will make a rational decision based on actual policy, or they will hold onto their anger and vote against their own best interest.
Would these people just become libertarians already?! Your party doesn't want you! How many constitutional amendments do they have to pass against you before you see that?! The Jesus freaks are more abundant therefore they get heard. I'm sorry but that's how politics works.
I mean, if this was such a major problem then wouldn't they be pushing harder for it no matter what the impression is? But no, apparently their so afraid of what a backlash would do their just going to let an alleged crime go unpunished. Doesn't sound like the republican party we've come to know and hate for the past eight years does it? The only logical explaination is that it was never a major problem in the first place and they knew it. Of course the fact that their fear campaign against illegals has actually caused tighter crackdowns kinda takes a lot of the punch out their justifications for it in the first place, doesn't it?
That's pretty much the way all conservaitves are!
Y'know, the one about the bulk of healthcare recipients being illegals? I mean, being the respectable journalsit Matt Lauer is, I'm sure he'll go out of his way to see if Mr. Morris was telling the truth...right?
Just like all the soldiers his candidacy got killed! This "well, the public would have turned on Gore after 9/11" shit is irrelevant! NO ONE could have forseen 9/11 in 2000, but EVERYONE could see what an incompetent phony Bush was. Yet so-called "progressives" voted for the spoiler anyway. The man called Jesus his favorite philosopher, you really couldn't see how that would play to the brainless hicks? He had the election in the bag after that! We needed all the votes we could get just to keep our fingers in the dam at that point.
A bunch of stoners in Califrnia who have no idea how bad things are out here in the bible belt and whose state would have gone for Gore anyway may still be able to justify their wasted vote, but that's about it. I was 22 in 2000 and even I was old enough to realize what was at stake, so the burned out old hippies still protesting the Vietnam war certainly don't have an excuse. The world is not perfect, we never get the candidates we want, but anyone over the age of 18 ought to be old enough to know that, yes, there is such a thing as the lesser of two evils.
I don't know how America would have reacted to 9/11 under a Gore presidencey but it is asinign to say that things would have turned out the same! There would be no "Patriot Act" there would be no war in Iraq; with our without Lieberman, there would be no FISA, and maybe a republican would have won in 2004 but if the American people were still clamoring for bin Ladens head at that point, do you really think they would have still supported a distraction venture into Iraq? Any republican running against Gore that year would have to promise to bring bin Laden's head in on a silver platter. And the best thing of all, they might actually have succeeded which means that we would still be in a better place then we are now! No argument I have seen from Nader apologists justifies their childish choice.
When are all these Clintonistas going to acknowledge that their support for her and her run in general were based on a sense of entitlement? They accuse Obama of sexism (without providing any proof) but they won't admit that their own support for this woman was based on a beleif that it was the feminists "time" to run the country. Even going so far as to claim that younger women owe the older generation a vote for her (don't beleive me? go to the letters section of the "Why Clinton voters say they won't support Obama") for all their hard work on things like Roe.
