@Anon at 9:15

What does any of that have to do with the people who attacked us? It is not the job of the American military to overthrow every government whose system isn't like ours or isn't as free as ours, it is their job to protect the country.

Sounds like conservatives in Manilla have the same problem conservatives in America do...

they don't understand when something is none of their damn business.

"It's scary! Sometimes I imagine the fundies taking over our country: suddenly I have to pray at school, at work, and the moral police are telling me I need to wear only skirts, and only below the knee, and I can't ever cut my hair, and I can't dance anymore anywhere (That might Kill me), and then they are rounding up all my gay friends and imprisoning them and the women that get abortions are put in stockades and marched around the square with the letter A on there bellies! OY!"

You don't really think that will happen? Come to the bible belt sometime.

That's not what bothers me...

What bothers me is that these celebrity burnouts are treated as "news". Only if your idea of news is ET! When CNN passes on the latest Britney crotch shot or pregnancy or whatever no marketable skills loser she's fucking this week story for an in depth investigation into the motivations for going into Iraq, then they can call themsleves a news channel again.

Yeah, those republicans are such victims...

That's why they spent the past five years accusing anyone who questions the war of treason and keep voting for whichever candidates will change the constitution to oppress gays in the name of "morality".

They totally don't deserve to get dissed on (do kids still say dissed? I'm pushing 30 so I really don't know anymore).

There, got that off my chest, now, I have to agree with several other posters (yes, some of them republican) that said we've heard this all before. Every election we hear how critical the youth vote is and every year it fizzles. I can only assume we've been hearing this for decades as well. I see no reason to believe this year will be any different.

BTW: I have voted in every election since I was 22 (didn't get my card in in time when I was 18)and will continue to do so.

Is NOW even relevant anymore?

Where have these women been the past eight years? Have they not noticed that the Current Occupant was put in office by a bunch of religious fanatics who want to roll the women's movement back to the 1930's? And their still bitching that "the woman" didn't get picked by a senator who, for the past decade and a half, has only served as the butt of jokes for Rush and company. I know that living in New York you all must be used to being surrounded by liberalism but out here in flyover country, women are facing very real problems.

States out here have been trying to roll back Roe almost to the point of succeeding, and depending on where you live, they already have. Most counties in America don't even have abortion clinics anymore and while you all were worried about tokenism, sex-ed and real comprehensive pregnancy prevention was completely abolished. When you ladies are ready to look at the real enemies you have and the real problems this country faces instead of attacking the only party that has ever listened to you, then you can tell women who to vote for.

Not everyone has the luxury of living in one of the bluest cities on Earth.

Art imitates life...

Next issue! God-man and Human-Man team up to fight cancer, poverty, AIDS, global warming, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the genocide in Darfur and lack of health care!

Will they succeed?

About time someone said something!

"And please, for the love of God, please stop coming up with "clever" buzzwords to define a generation, whether it be "Facebook Generation," "Gen X" or "Gen Y." Whenever I hear one of these phrases I sense a shortcut to thinking."

Thank You! Am I the only one who thinks it's stupid that every generation has to have their own little title? Ever since the "boomers" everybody is in a category!

Oh, NOW their concerned about the constitution...

Funny, they haven't been for the past eight years. Wonder what brought about this flip flop.

"takes away freedom of speech as guaranteed in the Constitution." Huh? When did paying people to bend the law on your behalf qualify as "speech"? Guess that means they can't complain when pornographers claim "Free Speech" every time some preacher with an agenda goes after them, too.

Just as I never understood why they hated the Clintons so much, their hatred of McCain makes even less sense. I imagine this has more to do with McCain/Fiengold then anything else. Limbaugh gets paid to shill for the corporate wing while distracting the masses with the culture war when necessary so he probably told them McCain was a "liberal" for this and being the brainless lemmings they all were, the dittoheads immediatly turned on him just because the man they let think for them told them to do so.

Just watch, if McCain gets the nomination, regardless of who gets the dems, he will automatically get Limbaugh's blessing and become acceptable. Anyone who thinks the talk radio wing of the republican party has any real principles is just as guillible as their listeners are.

I'm surprised...

That the artificial cohesion held up this long!
