I didn't even read the interview, I don't need to, because I understand that conservative=liar. What part of this do YOU not understand? I've got news for all of you: the people who have a problem with blacks and women (and gays and minority religions and...) as president aren't liberals or democrats, their the republicans. This infighting about who is the bigger victim is exactly what the other side wants to see. I have no doubt they would love nothing more then to see this "women v. blacks" fight run all the way into the convention. At the rate this argument, and the candidates, are going, that may very well happen. They want 1968 all over again. Let's not lose sight of who the real enemy is here.

Yes, Gloria Steinem is still stuck in 1972, that is her choice. If she doesn't want to see all the good that she, herself, helped accomplish for women then no one owes her anything. Her comments were outdated and yes, a little bit racist, but again, she's still living in 1972. Both women and blacks of both genders have suffered at the hands of rich, old, white guys and right now, the rest of the country is suffering too. Being a (relatively) young straight white guy I will be the first to admit that I don't have experience with the kind of discrimination that blacks, women, and older people face (yet), but I doubt the people who want to continue those kinds of things will be voting for either Barrack or Hillary.

BTW: Voting for a candidate based solely on their gender or race is petty, has nothing to do with their ability to lead a country, and, as another poster said, we already went through 8 years of a president who was picked for what he was and not what he could do.

"Unlike you liberals, I actually support our troops!"-(By support I mean that I'm willing to stick a magnet of a ribbon on my car/truck/SUV and put the troops out of my mind, just so long as I don't have to think about what happens to them after they get back or as long as it's not my son or I don't have to sacrifice any of my luxeries for them)

4. "They threaten America's allies"-(read: Israel)

5. "So what if Saddam didn't have any WMDs, he was a bad guy who mistreated his people and was going to restart his weapons program anyway"- (I will continue to support anything Bush says until he changes his mind and then I will convienently change mine to match because I have to stand by him because he said Jesus and qouted the bible a bunch of times during his campaigns and made a bunch of promises to culture warriors like myself that he didn't deliver on and with less then a year left in office he never will but I'm still holding out hope that at the last minute he will come through for us with a gay marraige ban or over turn Roe or something like that. It doesn't matter that there were much graver threats to us at the time of the invasion, I still have to stand behind my president out of party loyalty, of course if Clinton had wanted to overthrow Saddam for the same reasons, I would have been the first to demand his impeachment)

6. "Of course Saddam was working with Al-Queda, because the enemy of my enemy is my friend"-(I have nothing to base this on, I just want to believe that my president knows what he is doing so badly I will pull shit out of my ass at this point)

I'll admit some of his have been not so funny lately. But this one was spot on! Maybe because it's so true to life?
