[Read the article: Bill Clinton looks backward]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Walter Shapiro is a pathetic excuse for a journalist. Why is it so difficult to report the shallow nature of Obama's political career from his atrocious record in the senate where he could have used his position to educate himself on foreign policy to his non votes in Illinois. Hillary has experience that she gained through incredibly hard work as a senator - Obama has charisma, great oratory, and pretty much nothing else. The Boston Globe is the only outlet to actually report on how Obama squandered his leadership role in the senate. I say let Bill rip him apart until the world of journalism finds its way and reports something of substance on Obama. When you get tired of Bill doing your job for you, try reporting something that matters.

Hillary
[Read the article: Barack Obama agrees with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Get with it Joan - the NYT says it all: Hillary has experience, Obama has nothing. Do you really think we need oratory and hipness over hard earned political experience?

Steroids
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]King,
Great article. The bottom line with steroids is this, if you put an asterisk against the accomplishments of Bonds and others, then you must put one by all who have had "Tommy John" surgery, pretty much anyone who has had any surgery by Dr. James Andrews, anyone who has had arthroscopic surgery, used rehab techniques like sitting in a hyperbaric chamber while taking 10K grams of vitamin C intravenously, used current strength training techniques, or even consumed whey protein supplements. Just think what Mickey Mantle could have done with contemporary knee surgical procedures and rehabilitation. These are all modern medical advances and all provide a competitive advantage. Make steroids legal and control use by medical professionals. These medications were developed by the medical profession and can be incredibly helpful if not abused. As to the use by kids - anyone under the age of 18 should avoid like the plague since the endocrine system can be seriously affected. Talk to experts who have actually used or trained those who do - all others are bloviating blowhards who know nothing. The supposed health risks for mature adults are overblown. Arnold, Franco, and others took recommended dosages and cycled off while many users today never cycle off and take ten times recommended dosages. And BTW, don't we have a war in Iraq that politicians should be dealing with instead of sticking their noses in illegal drug use in sports?

HRC
[Read the article: Our candidates, ourselves]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What rock has Pollitt been under? Obama looks more shallow with each passing day and to say that he has a better handle on foreign policy than HRC shows a complete ignorance of the man's record, and foreign policy for that matter. He squandered an incredible opportunity to educate himself about foreign policy issues by never convening his senate committee or traveling on its behalf. This has long been the training ground for senators who desire to become effective in the foreign affairs arena. He did nothing with this opportunity. See the Boston Globe article for the details - the only outlet to venture beyond the smile and the oratory.
Democrats like this who now bash the Clinton presidency sound exactly like republicans. It was by far the best administration since FDR. We need more than words this time around and Clinton will not only be able to fend off the attack dogs of the GOP but she will also be able to lead on day one. Do we really want a president who will require on-the-job training?

Obama
[Read the article: Biracial, but not like me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It is really scary that seemingly intelligent people like Kamiya are voting for Obama because of his writing, his hopeful oratory, or his life experience while admitting that he has no experience or knowledge of how government works. Have we devolved to the point that job qualifications no longer matter?

Bob Knight
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Outstanding article again, King. Thanks for stepping up and telling the truth about the arrogant bastard. I remember my only final four game when LSU played Indiana on the day Reagan was shot. The next day the paper had an article about an LSU fan who saw Knight in a restaurant where they were both dining and congratulated him on his win. Knight made several disparaging comments about LSU and then shoved the fan into a garbage can. He was an ass and I couldn't agree more - good riddance!

Obama
[Read the article: It's OK to vote for Obama because he's black]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Qualified? What the hell has this guy done except talk? If he had taken his short senate career as seriously as Clinton then maybe you would have a point. He squandered a great opportunity to become knowledgeable about foreign policy by failing to convene the committee he chaired (see Boston Globe article that described this travesty) while Clinton worked her ass off getting the job done and educating herself about policy. He not only knows little about government function but he has done nothing to learn. He reminds me more every day of Reagan - put on the rose colored glasses and everything will be just fine! I understand youthful naivete' and the desire for change for change sake but give me a break. We need somebody who not only understands the operations of government but also works constantly to improve that understanding. It's people like you and the rest of the so-called journalists that have given Obama a free ride. When exactly do you plan to start asking him a few questions about his ideas on anything other than empty rhetoric?

Obama the racist
[Read the article: Is Obama playing the race card?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thank God for Sean Wilentz and Vincent Rossmeier for telling the truth about this sordid mess that African American leaders and the Obama campaign have created. The revisionist history of the Clinton Administration being pushed by these leaders (Doug Wilder, John Lewis, James Clyburn, Obama, and others) is despicable. For those naive enough to believe that people of color can't be racist, take a look at this bunch. They have proven that they will do anything to win, including smearing a president who did more for the poor and minority community than any president since FDR.
