Oil consumers will pay anything to secure future access to oil. Nowhere is this more obvious in China which has 4 cars per 1000 people vs 750 per 1000 in the US. If the global average is around 120 per 1000 then the Chinese government is going to have to secure a future supply to all that unrealized demand now not later. Later is too late. So securing that future spigot is what's driving up the cost.

I would vote for the complete medical end of all sexual desire. It's insanely overrated and nothing but problems. Either you're having no sex or you're a sex addict. So let's just eliminate it. I've been tracking a number of odd cases where a patient goes in for a colonoscopy, gets a clean bill of health and is dead in a year from colon cancer. My guess is that they're too aggressive in calling everything 'precancerous', they knock loose too much of this pre cancerous material and wind up propagating more cancer cells. You know, when you have an expensive tool you need to use it, so use it they do. Maybe a bit too much though.

As any multilingual person knows, learning it is part of the battle, constant use is the other. And just because you are able to teach people something doesn't mean they'll retain it. If you live in southern France you will probably come across a need to speak more than French. If you live in Quebec, likewise. Problem is blanket Spanish does not mean that more than a small # of your students will be able to use it. So feel free - teach Spanish all you want. But you'll have to ensure that MORE not less Spanish is in common use just to exploit the learning resources you just spent.
