Just so we're clear....

The party that calls themselves "Democrats", have superdelegates to overthrow the will of the voters, and failing that, will change their own rules in the middle of the election to favor their establishment candidate?

I think they should be forced to change the name of their party under the scant remaining laws about truth in advertising.

I guess Oligarchicrat doesn't roll off the tongue so easily, but it seems more accurate.

So Obama is taking the unpopular stance for the hell of it?

So Obama is against the gas tax holiday, because he says it won't do anything, and this is leading the knuckle-draggers in Indiana and NC to like HIllary better.

So, what this article is saying is, he's taking a position that he knows is wrong in so he can erode his own lead? I'm having a hard time following the logic there.

Also, I live in Illinois. The gas tax holiday was BS then, it's BS now.

Here's my elitist comment. If you're dumb enough to fall for this snake oil, it means we need an IQ test to qualify for voting priveledges.

Stalemate?

It's not a stalemate. Barring BS maneuvering Hillary has lost.

Hillary can't win without shenanigans, so the continuation of the race, and the accompanying boost for McCain is solely her fault.

If she cared about her country, or her party, or anything other than herself she'd accept her defeat and we could all move on.

Go Hillary! Nuke Iran!

Cats and dogs living together....

OK:

Liberal website with a front page article advocating racism. Awesome.

I also love the Hillaristas and their screeching histrionics. "Obama supporters are unthinking robots".

I'm out for Obama.

Against the war from day one.

Doesn't take money from PACs or lobbyists.

Hasn't been a part of the bad shit under Clinton (Bill) *or* Bush.

What he hasn't done is as important as what he hasn't.

Hillary helped start the war, and helped pave the way for war with Iran.

She has taken more money from health insurance companies than any other candidate in history. Her donations from the war machine are pretty impressive too.

Her "universal" health care plan is only universal because she makes it illegal not to have it. (What are the penalties for non-compliance? Anyone know? Will rates go up or down when it's mandatory AND government subsidized? Hmmm...I wonder)

As far as Hillary's experience goes, she lost big on national health care, loved NAFTA (but now she doesn't), and again, voted for war in Iraq. Experience only counts for anything if you've got a good track record.

But Hillary is the thinking person's candidate. Right.

I'd vote for Obama if he were a female three horned Andalusian with scales.

Anon 12:45 Wow. Thanks

By using my post (but not actually paying attention to it) as an excuse to build yourself up as a "thinking feeling human being" yada yada (aka sanctimonious high groung), you basically prove one of my points.

Posting anonymously, you prove the other.

Stephanie, is that you? LOL!

Hmm

Is Stephanie Zacharek Rudy Giuliani's pen name? He likes to dress up as a woman, maybe he writes as one also?

I'll admit, I was semi-recently a little bit ticked off about a movie exploiting real tragedy to make a buck, but hey, that was Pearl Harbor, and I guess I was the only one who gave a damn.

No matter how much handwringing you do, in 50 years, they're going to make a crappy romantic love triangle movie about 9/11 with Ben Affleck III. With modern medical science, you'll live to see it.

First catharsis, then commercialization. It's the American Way.

On a side note, I wish everyone wasn't so busy clawing for their own sanctimonious high groung over 9/11, and crying about how *their* suffering is so significant. I wish my fellow Americans would show just a little bit of backbone.

If they had just a little spine, the Bush-Cheneys of the world would have a harder time wiping their asses with the constitution.

PS Spielberg's War of the Worlds SUCKED.

Michigan is extremely significant.

The Michigan primary shows that 40% of *Democrats* will turn out to vote *against* Hillary Clinton.

These are people who weren't able to vote directly for the candidate they would have preferred, and knew in advance their votes would have no bearing on the primary race, yet they still went out in the OH MY GOD ITS COLD Michigan weather to vote for *anyone* but Hillary.

If she can barely get half of Democrats to vote for her when she runs unopposed, how can her candidacy be anything but a gift to the Republicans?

Tuesday, January 1, 2008 09:53 AM

Well...

The fact is that Obama has had more individual people actually put up their money because they believe in his "message" than any other candidate in history.

I'm from Illinois and have watched Obama since he appeared on the radar. There are a lot of attacks here that either have no basis (ADM tool, etc), and others that are just regurgitations of the Clinton camps' propaganda (voting present).

Clinton *is* a republican. Edwards is another fake Regular Guy.

Your only other real option is a real Republican.

My advice is roll the dice.

Don't forget...

That we didn't wear helmets and other protective gear whilst foolishly emulating this real-life Wile E. Coyote on our Huffys and Schwinns.

Without the helmets, his childhood fans may be the last generation of kids to understand the full depth of the relationship between choice and consequence.

And to prize adventure, achievement, and freedom over safety.
