Was intrigued by Powell's quote about liberals' inability to poke fun at themselves. Hoped that he or Camille would give an example of right wing self deprecation, even Googled Powell's quote! The only self-effacing con humor I've ever seen, in any medium, is "King of the Hill".

Thanks for at least trying to explain the 'Jen' phenomenon. Your theories are as sound as any I've heard. I'm a happily married, middle-aged father of two who adores Jennifer and doesn't know why. I don't watch her damn movies. I don't believe ANYTHING the tabloids say about her. She's not as pretty as (pre-surgery) Courtney Cox. I'm even cynical enough to believe her whole persona is an invention to game the system. But somehow her appeal comes through intact.
