Perry and Hutchison are Tweedledee and Tweedledum--no difference.
Then why report it? This is the Associated Press today?
If Sanford didn't report these gift flights, it's safe to assume that he didn't report them as income when he filed his taxes. The IRS and the South Carolina Department of Revenue should investigate and prosecute if this is so.
She probably just wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail. Bad news for Todd.
How come when Dubya's popularity polling numbers were in the 20s last year that we never read any criticism of his act but now with Obama the MSM is dragging out anyone with a gripe, even Pat Boone? "The entertainer" When was that--1957?
bitter Huckabee
the GOP rejected
please hate Pelosi!
It's going to be great when this takes off--waiting in line is already so enjoyable but it's going to get even better when every other customer starts haggling with the minimum wage paid clerk.
"...those tastefully dressed, tanned, Yoga-class-attending, simplicity-movement-embracing, Lexus-driving, youthful-middle-aged San Francisco ladies..."
Sounds like the writer has a problem with something other than pricey furniture.
Sarah Palin beat the drum for keeping sex education out of our schools. Her daughter became pregnant after having sex with a boy that she met at a Christian school that follows this "just say no" philosophy. Unwed teen-aged mothers are what you get when you buy into the ridiculous idea that teenagers can make the right choice when they are denied sex education and birth control.
That's why this is a newsworthy story.
"Angry conservatives" is an oxymoron.
Obama really flubbed it by getting on stage with that storefront preacher. Thank goodness nobody was watching it except reporters.
Nice headline--are you 12-years old or what?
"Anyone who remembers the Iran-Contra years and the president who couldn't remember is not anxious to see a genial oldster dithering in the Oval Office."
Most Americans don't remember. After Reagan left office they started naming stuff after him as if he was a hero. His VP got elected president. GOPers invoke his name regularly and folks nod their heads in agreement that this was indeed a great leader.
McCain's problem isn't age, it's his packaging and personality. If he looked like Andy Griffith and possessed a b-level actor's skills, he'd be our next president.
You keep 'em, Trent.
Batman or Dubya--I'm sick of both.
"...a potential investigation of the White House that could rival Watergate."
As if that would ever happen. Dream on.
The picture that runs with this story makes Meryl Streep look like Boy George.
I remember watching Willie Mays, in a Mets uniform, falling down while running from first to second base and later stumbling around in the outfield. It was so sad to see a great player reduced to that. That's how I feel about Ms. Streep in this horror show--I choose to turn away and remember her back in the day when she was great.
Great post by drinkwater. Martin Luther King would never have gone along with being herded into a protest zone. Mistaking non-violent protest with being wimpy is the greatest mistake that has been made by protesters today.
I'll take any in-your-face Code Pink protester over the meek sheep who allow themselves to be herded into those "protest zones" that are set up to keep them conveniently out of sight.
The TSA screening is stupid, everyone knows that, but it is also really stupid to think that you can ignore them. Carrying a metal knife of any sort is just asking for a hassle. I guess that by wearing a pilot's uniform, you usually get a pass on that sort of thing but any other frequent air traveler would have known better.
The last thing Hopey needs at this time is an easy target like Joe Biden for a running mate. They will tear him up. Pick someone plain vanilla, preferably a Southerner or someone from a state with a large electoral vote count that could be affected. Bill Nelson of Florida?
You need to appear to be talking to the people but you don't actually have to do it--that can lead to trouble. Just get the sound-bite to look convincing. It's not about dialogue, it's about the performance. The proliferation of fake "town meetings" where a politico loads the hall exclusively with supporters and employees provides an excellent example of this theory in use.
Dubya in 2000 showed that you don't have to get more votes than the other guy in order to win. Gray Davis got more votes than his republican opponent in the California gubernatorial election of 2002 but had that taken away just a few months later by the GOP fueled and financed recall. Heck, Obama got less votes than Clinton and he has been declared the Democratic candidate.
Getting more votes than your opponent is no longer a guarantee of victory.
The demise of the rv is the silver lining on this otherwise dark cloud of rising fuel prices. The return of actual camping to campgrounds will be a welcome return to happier times when the only sounds you heard at night was the crackling of the campfire or a coyote's call rather than the current loud hums of rv generators, air-conditioners, and televisions.
I'd suggest that rv folks find a nice picture of an outdoor scene and have it made into a 5'x7' poster, then paste it over the window of that tin can. You can sit in your own driveway and spend no money on gas while enjoying pretty much the same experience. Fire up the microwave and turn on the tv!
