See it from the other side sometimes?

Quoting others first:

"Golodh says:

It may be difficult to grasp for US citizens, but their "right to know" does not extend to details within the combat zone. Not even if it concerns the exact circumstances of death of their relatives that serve. And yes, sometimes the truth will have to take a backseat to the best interests of the Army.

I will tell you as a former US Army NCO that this is not in the best interest of the US Army. It is clear to every soldier in that building what happened. It was also clear to their platoon sergeant, but he started right away getting with the official version, given to him by an officer not on the scene.

The word will get around, and trust along the chain of command will take a hit. And when there is no trust in the chain of command things get really bad. Just ask any Vietnam combat vet. The effect will be far more corrosive than the admission of a friendly fire incident could ever be. Most soldiers can accept the friendly fire. We know that confusion is the rule. But systematic and blatant lying? That won't go down well.

verelse, the value of the video is not that it shows the tank firing, but that it shows without doubt and in real time what the soldiers on the spot believe happened. Several soldiers insist it was the tank, insist they saw the muzzle flash, and reported coax fire. Doesn't sound like a mortar attack to me. Telling us we just can't understand is not a valid argument. The video allows the soldiers on the spot to speak for themselves. They understand what it's like. And tell me, how is telling the truth the "destruction of more soldiers to satisfy the desires of those who neither understand them nor care to"? What evidence have you for the vile accusation that the "destruction of more soldiers" would satisfy anyone? And how is telling the mother the truth--that in the confusion of battle her son died in a regrettable friendly fire incident, that the Army regrets her loss extremely--a gruesome detail that is not required? Sorry, but your argument is incoherent."

BritPatJax Comment:

What about ever having the imagination to think what it must be like to be caught in this arena as many innocent civilians are and them without flak jackets and helmets and protective eye equipment and supportive air and ground troops and radio contact and speedy evacuation and medical attention. Imagine having to even suffer foreign tanks in your neighborhood? Will we ever even consider that side of things?

Ugliness of the Republican Party.

They wonder why they are unpopular and yet still they spill their disgusting mindset. Guilty by association Mr Guiliano. You appeared on the same program where Limbaugh talking about Powell and about Obama. Limbaugh stated about Joe the Plumber that Obama would not know how to un block a toilet. Snerdly his sidekick stated apparently and Limbaugh repeated it sniggering as he did, 'if he even uses one?'. What kind of a nation allows that kind of man to be a top notch radio jock?

Say it ain't so, Joe!

I think that Joe was merely pointing out that should Russia test us out as they did a while ago over Georgia, that Obama is not going to be able to do much more than George Bush was able to do in all reality? Rome was not built in a day?

Another election nightmare in Florida?

It hurts me to say that I am astonished at the election photo's. I have votes in many elections in the UK and not one time have I had to wait. There are too many offices and in local schools. To have to wait in the cold or the wet of the UK? To subject seniors to hours of waiting? We have a British saying. You could not organize a piss up in a brewery. How CAN a high tech nation like America be so inept at such an important event. Then again just look at Katrina? Get it fixed folks or you will not encourage people to even vote at such and important issue?

Original article: Sympathy for Charles Graner

NO sympathy for the Family of Charles Graner.

You either HAVE values or you don't. I had them when I arrived from the UK in 2001, right after 9/11 and I maintained them ever since. I took flak and still take flak for having values. I am relieved to see over the last 18 months that America HAS come to its senses. The people who actually denigrate me for speaking out are fewer and fewer. I am amazed when I send my links to my rants and videos, about strafing civilians in dust bowl streets as being corrupt, that these days I get agreement and collusion. Very many want to turn a leaf and not go that same way ever again. As a parent had I received photos like that I would told my son to think again and if he could not, then never to involve me in such awful behavior again. I might even have been the one to 'blow the whistle'. What IS the matter with you guys? I served in Germany five years 61-66 and saw that behavior of troops can decline but I tried to keep my values when I saw others give in to temptation. I personally would not have been that upset were they caught. Have you seen 'Platoon'. Did it not make you sick? Did it not determine that you would not succumb to such things. We blamed Germans for what happened there? Should we not then blame American voters for their second term choice. What DID you vote for? You knew what was going on right?
