New Influence spreading... oldsters sniffing around!
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dear Heather,
It's "adOpter," not early 'adApter'. Oh, yeah, about the new web shows: totally deriviative, mind-slowing and has-Been There since growing up in The Seventies.
It turns out that "Maria Bamford" is just a fake name for Chelsea Clinton, who is still guilting her parents over their choice of Infidelity and Constant Campaigning as a means to develop Esteem, Power and Self-Acceptance.
After her mom becomes Prez, "Maria" hopes to attend her own wedding to someone who writes about media, so she can spend the next eight years de-crying her miserable reality-TV family.
But seriously, folks, a movement is underway to put eyeball focus into the interactive medium of Web vs. TV gaze - because advertizers want to link retinas with ATM's so purchases don't have to go thru the messy, oft-confused filter of human brains.

Barack kissed me?!
[Read the article: Barack Obama's breakthrough victory]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In the land of New Hampshire, dreams can come true. As he spoke to us in the high school gym, I imagined that like all candidates do here - he danced with me, holding me close - and even slightly brushed me with his lips as he sauntered on by.
Like all stars, he has that smile, that WAY about him. He evokes dreams of a future and my resurrected, corrected past of nostalgia as an American - even tho' I'm a Brit.
UK media do treat pols so kindly: our nation is a tiny place to rendesvous on the Larger Issues - The U.S. controls most of the world's wealth by its sheer consumer power and steeled will of inevitability. Yanks won the war, you will lead the world.
After six years of chasing bandits and evildidders, it is - as they say in those western movies - "high time" the agenda was sane and constructive for the people living in the states. My good friend tells me she cannot get a decent job, pay her rent and that her son is in and out of jail due to drugs. Is this the nation that Obama addresses?
Bush, Cheney & Wall Street have only addressed K-street: giant corporate interests are the dragon of capitalism that breathes such fire to extinguish any hope of remaining oxygen.
Hillary will rule, Barach will rule. It is written (by a sage long ago) that "He who leadeth me" shall also care for me. It is a new day in America, where saving my friend's child and all the children in The U.S. can only be achieved by helping the rest of the children and families the world over.
He kissed me with his inspiration, touched me with his promise and leadeth me down the path of righteousness... toward a democratic future of dignity and courage to be honest with all.

Hillary is Ba[ra]ck!
[Read the article: The debate through the eyes of Clinton loyalists]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I love visiting the states, especially New Hampshire. I am covering the primary for a well-regarded publication - my view is that U.S. voters understand their position as title-holders of World Democracy.
Here is the breakdown as I see it:
1. hardcore dems favor Hillary
2. hardcore populists/progressives Edwards
3. softcore dreamers + youth = Obama
4. noncore will not yield an encore... for the remainder
5. None of the Above
This analysis takes into account three important factors for predicating the future of the Free World - a)Bush is a failure b)Dems offer serious alternatives to war, poverty, etc. c)the people of the U.S. have lost their security and must vote. Hence, voter registrations will be way up!! That must be the most important lesson from this primary season.
U.K. citizens wish to believe in fantasy and cynicism. Don't forget - we dispatched the greatest leader of the Twentieth Century, Sir Winston Churchill, without remorse. The worst Americans have ever done is elect Ronald Reagan to establish the course of unbridled Capitalism and Cronyism, which has systematically dismantled the hope of integration and middle class growth for minorities and disadvantaged peoples.
Whoever wins in New Hampshire will recall the great statement of JFK's inauguration - "Ask not, what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."
This election is going to be about making real sacrifice to survive and thrive in a post-elite, post-consumer global society that respects no ideologues spewing forth divisiveness or hate of the vast majority of working poor families.
Religion be damned!

Evolutionary Politic-ology 101.us
[Read the article: Obama's double magic]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Barack has won the primary! My writer friend and social observer/novelist explained his N.H. transformation:
Hillary was queen, then she was found to be... Not Bill
Obama's inspiration, especially to youth, is Get A New Life
Edwards is fighting a last round before retiring Almost Great
The Rest do not matter so much - as evolutionary strategy has selected, naturally, the winner.
A Republican cannot win when 60% of voters want Change.
He further explained that his emotions went thru a series of smaller changes until the Final Decision...
Hillary vs. Obama - A New Life seems more hopeful/feels better
Obama vs. Edwards - stopping The Rich means gridlock, sacrifice
Edwards vs. Hillary - incremental change means Rich still rule
The Rest vs. Ourselves: Good Ideas = Time + Work to develop
In a society and world of immediate dissatisfaction, waiting is now too painful to bear after seven years of Ugh!
The Yanks have won the war once again. Hurray U.S. citizens!!
