A little more on BPD...

The LW did not blame his ex for his abuse of her. If the Ex is BPD, you can be sure that she'll be painting him as Evil Incarnate (split black) to anyone who'll giver her at least two seconds of attention.

By the way, a good indicator of BPD is the tendency to blame somebody or something (usually somebody) for their seemingly interminable misery. BPD's have great difficulty with taking responsibility for their own lives.

It is also important to recognize that it takes two to tango. A person who gets entangled with (and stays) with a BPD has their own serious issues- usually poor self-esteem in some sense, or a rescue complex.

Non-BPD's who don't get therapy to resolve their own shit will soon discover that they're "BPD-magnets" and will find themselves in a string of miserable, destructive relationships.

Excuse me, BlackDahlia

The fact that his ex-wife says she'll tell any woman she sees him with that he's beaten her doesn't make her vindictive or borderline personality (Poodleplay—you have issues!)

I never said that it does. Do you not understand the concept of a red flag? Do you not understand that I was entreating the LW to learn about something important he may be unaware of, and asking him to see IF that is the case, not telling him THAT it is the case?

I'm sorry that you went through what you did, but I went through plenty myself, and I'm not about to let you, or anyone else take that away from me. Would you like that if I did it to you?

Please extend to me the courtesy of not making accusations against me when you don't know a goddamn thing about me or my life beyond what I have chosen to share.

Thank you.

@XposeLefty

Dude- One exclamation point is enough, really.

On a similar note, you can't summon the elevator to your floor any faster than it wants to go- no matter how many times you push the button.

@Weekend at Bernie2

Um, aren't you supposed to be dead? Like really dead- not just from the neck up?

@RDeSoto

What you all can't seem to grasp is that many of us just want to be left alone. Get the fuck out of our lives.

Or, you can get out of ours. Face it, you're in the minority now, and the majority of Americans (as evidenced by the biggest Democratic victory since 1964) prove as much.

Wasn't it you guys who had, "America, Love it or Leave it" as your stock reply?

I understand Somalia is lovely this time of year. No pesky government to worry about, either.

A true "liberal" has an open mind and eschews the "group-think" of both the left and right, each with their statist and/or authoritarian tendencies. Clearly left group-think is as taken for granted as the air you breathe...you are no liberal.

Thanks for the lecture on what it means to be a Liberal. I never knew any of that, really.

I have always kept my mind open when conversing with my intellectual equals, but I admit that I have been remiss by not doing the same when responding to demonstrable idiots who have nothing of substance to talk about. Thanks to you, I now know how I can mend my ways.

This will be a huge challenge, given that the loudest voices on the Right bring us nothing but lizard-brain appeal, utterly bereft of useful content, to say nothing of veracity.

What else is there to do with such creatures besides holding them up to ridicule?

The GOP's monster

The Republicans may have created the AM radio/Fox News propaganda monster, but they won't be able to control it.

I think that's called, "Having a Tiger by the Tail"

Hope they enjoy the ride before they're cat food.

Hey, Diable4

I think it's hilarious that impotent old white men like Spoincey and indyoxycontintim rage on and one about the "liburrals" and crow about the "ratings" successes of faux news, rushie, etc. All of which are OLD MEDIA. All of which may be ratings leaders right now, but compared to the past, ratings are miniscule. People just don't listen to talk radio or watch TV in the numbers they used to. The ones that do consume their "inforamtion" that way are the technology laggers-old people, the stupids (sorry but it's true), etc. We all know this-but no one will come out and say it.

Or, as Tom Waits put it, among others...

"Even In the Land of the Blind, the One-Eyed Man is King."

Better be careful there, buddy... Diable4's dad can beat up YOUR dad, too.

Hi,

You're clearly not cut from the same cloth as the rabble that I referred to in other posts. You have demonstrated a willingness to express your ideas with originality and eloquence. The rabble would rather regurgitate chain emails and hurl playground insults. I hope you don't think I confuse that sort with intelligent, thoughtful people who are able to articulate their points of view, even their world view is opposite mine.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I look forward to what I can learn from you.

Parallel Lines

To admit that Soviet-style socialism could be reformed was to allow that it wasn't already the best possible system, confessing to decades of lying and laying the whole apparatus open to revision and revolution while the tempting example of Western-style market economies waited right next door

To admit that American-style Private Insurance-based Health Care can be reformed is to allow that it isn't already the best possible system, confessing to decades of lying and laying the whole apparatus open to revision and revolution while the tempting example of Canadian-style Socialized Medicine waited right next door.

How'd that work out for the Soviets?

Are we on the precipice of change? One can only hope.
