@Christina Stroz

So sorry, my dear, but you have revealed yourself as a fraud.

Your use of the term "pro-abortion" to describe yourself is what initially set off my bullshit detector, otherwise, I would never have noticed.

Even amongst the most ardent pro-choice crusaders, it's a rare, rare person who would describe themselves as being pro-abortion. You're obviously far too out of touch to even attempt such a masquerade.

Naturally, I then decided to investigate your letters history.

I don't know where the hell you think you are, but you ain't playing with the kids in the corner here.

I'm sure you have a story to tell- one that maybe some of us can learn something from, but if you want to make a point here, intellectual honesty will get you much further than just making shit up.

Sorry. I don't like that one bit.

The rest of you can now go and take a gander at some of what our friend wrote here. Hidden agenda, much?

---------------------------------

"I agree. This is a tricky question. I am pro abortion but I often wrestle with it. I’ve concluded that I have to admit I don’t know for sure how right or wrong this is. Who knows, maybe when I have kids I’ll wonder how I was ever (personally) pro abortion. While I do not beleive in telling other women what they can do with their bodies, I do respect women who are PERSONALLY pro life (meaning they do not agree with abortion but do not want to stop other women from having abortions.) Interestingly a woman who used to be pro abortion also changed her mind. (there is a link to her blog below) She has a child with Down syndrome and adopted 3 more also with Down syndrome. I humbly bow to her amazing ability to really “walk the walk” when it comes to her beliefs. She's the real deal.

This is her blog: http://mommylife.net/about.html

An open letter to the RNCC

Thank god for people like Stirman, Bachmann, etc, etc.

Give them as many microphones as you can. Go out and round up a few more, while you're at it.

Show us all what you're made of, and keep at it- Let it "all hang out" as they used to say in the 60's.

Eternally grateful,

Another This One who's voting for That One.

OK, Christina...

First, let me apologize for expressing myself unkindly. That happens to me sometimes. I'm sorry.

I reacted strongly to the description of yourself as "pro-abortion." To me, that sounds like you're in favor of abortion. I read the little blurb from Camille Paglia, and I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I will also be honest and admit that I nearly always bristle at Camille's worldview.

Now that being said, I will speak for myself.

I describe myself as Pro-Choice.

I don't agree with those who argue that abortion is murder, but

I don't think the choice to terminate one's pregnancy should ever be taken lightly. I have faith, however, that it is a rare women who has ever done so thoughtlessly, never having had her decision weigh heavily on her psyche.

Unwanted or dangerous pregnancies are often wrought with emotional pain and fear, with the woman facing enormous ethical struggles. I wish to see the best possible outcome for every individual and for society. I believe that there are times when abortion is, sadly, the best solution.

At the end of the day, I believe that the woman must at least be a party to deciding the course of action to be taken, if not responsible for it entirely.

I personally would like to see abortion as the means of last resort, and nothing would please me more than to see it remain, in the words of President Clinton, "Safe, legal and rare."

This is a gross over-simplification of my position, but I hope that I have made it clear why I could never describe myself as "Pro-Abortion."

Finally, I am a man, and so I believe that the significance of my beliefs and positions necessarily take a back seat to those of any woman.

Thank you for listening.

@Brightstar

"being pro-choice is not a problem...as long as only ONE SEX gets to decide the choice."

Didn't say that.

"the other sex is irrelevant."

Didn't say that either.

"and just HOW is this equality?"

It's not.
