Original article: Pissed about Palin

@LIVEnAK

Oh please...

Please... Do you really think any of us here think you're nothing but yet ANOTHER goddamn PR hack that has been infesting Salon's letter pages like a bad case of the crabs, especially lately?

As if that wasn't bad enough, you are also an uncreative douchebag. Try crafting something a little more clever than regurgitating your puppetmaster's talking points.

Write more betterer, get a raise.

Fuck you, and the horse you rode in on. You fool no one.

Maybe, just maybe...

...the collective thieving garbage that looted our treasure might find themselves beset by bloodthirsty pirates as they sail to their private tax-sheltered islands in their bullion-laden yachts.

Avast, me boys! Bring me some fine tar fer me pigtails and sail away!

Sigh.

What was the name of that Abbot & Costello movie?

appropos of:

@emily_tc

Please tell me how Hilary would have been a more viable candidate than Obama. Die-hard Hilary supporters keep coming on the letters threads and making that statement apropo of nothing.

I keep asking this question and none of Hilary's supporters ever answer it and I think it goes directly to the heart of Hilary's viability. What about Bill? How would Hilary have outlined what Bill's role would have been if she were to have won the GE? How would we have kept the media and rethugs from wanting to re-fight every year of Bill's presidency? Has Bill been a good boy the past 8 years?

All these questions would have come up in the GE with Hilary as the Dem candidate. Please tell me how they would have been answered.

Underanothername- there will be no answer because this is no real HRC supporter. Just a private in the Operation Chaos army who is still on patrol on a deserted island, marching back and forth in a deep trench worn with her own boots- a mountain of empty tin cans of beans in the background.

That war is over. Guess Emily never got the memo.

Bearpaw- Which local of the Projectionists Union do you belong to?

Geez, Louise!

Is THAT the best you can do? We've all taken Psych-101 here, and know what projection is.

BETTER TROLLS, PLEASE!

Original article: Cranky vs. cool

@AKASmith

"McCain is losing it. I am actually allowing myself to believe that he may be on the verge of some sort of emotional breakdown or in the early stages of dementia."

Seems to me that one must have first HAD it before they can lose it, no?

Old and in the Way...

...is what I've heard 'em say

They used to heed the words you said,

But that was Yesterday

Gold will turn to Grey,

Youth will fade away.

They'll never care about you

When you're Old and in the Way

Fjr,

You're a better man than I. I am afraid to look at my 401K. At least I've got almost 20 years to retirement... bleh.

Anyway, apropos of the GOP being rattled by Pelosi the Wicked- I think it's funny as hell that (as someone elsewhere put it)

"And funnier yet, that old queen Barney Frank told the GOP to suck it up and man up. That if her speech caused them to avoid doing what was best for the country they are a bunch of pansies and shouldn't be in the House to begin with."

That made my day!! Go Barney!

Original article: The Sarah Palin pity party

Best. T-Shirt. Ever! (Seen recently in NJ)

Front Side:

"Monica Lewinsky has more president in her than Sarah Palin"

Back Side:

Vote Irish! Vote O'Bama!

Made my day.

GOOD job ignoring the trolls, today!

Keep it up, people. The shit I've seen posted here today deserves no response. Expect them to get even more strident as we continue to ignore them. Fun!!

OT-an old joke c. 1992

Sorry- couldn't resist, with the mentions of Dan Quayle and all...

----

Q. What do Marilyn Quayle and SCOTUS nominee Ginsburg have in common?

A. They both like to blow a little dope once in a while.

I'm loving this!

Thanks, Rebecca, for pissing off all the right people!

Thanks, Salon readers, for (mostly) ignoring the trolls. What a strident, foolish, and utterly un-imaginative bunch. Big surprise.

Kind of reminds me of the scene in "The Practice" when the loan-shark hires a big fat goon to gut-punch poor Jimmy in an alley. His parting shot, "I've been called lots of things, but 'original' is not one of them."

Sarah Palin, Female Impersonator.

Fear Not!! The militias will save us from tyranny!

Yes, they will!

If ever there was a more obvious example of tyranny this is it- the so-called "Pitchfork Moment" to which GG referred to not so long ago.

See- all you goddamn librul commie-pinkos who would have taken away the guns of true-blue Mer'cun patriots were WRONG!

WRONG WRONG WRONG!

Thank goodness for the NRA and the 2nd Amendment!

Where do I sign up?

Probably the best treatment of these very typical RWA fever dreams was given by R. Crumb, c. 1993:

(Relax- folks... this is SATIRE- pointed as hell, but still SATIRE)

The man's mind amazes me!

Care to elaborate, Brightstar?

"YOU WANT THE REAL TRUTH? The more powerful a person or group is, the more likely that entity is to be corrupt and, thus, nurturing a set of active conspiracies."

---

Is that your only metric for sorting what is so from what is not?

If not, would you care to share them with us?

Thanks!
