Hey, can someone get G. Soros to cough up a little pocket change...

... for what would be the Mother of ALL Political rallys?

I agree with prior posters who state that the McC campaign is hoping that Obama will tone it down a little and disappear as a result of the ad.

I say, Double the Volume- Create gigantic rallys with crowds so large they couldn't possibly be paid shills.

---

On a somewhat unrelated matter- I am feeling especially passionate about this since the recent UU CHurch shooting in TN. I happen to be a TN UU, and instead of being intimidated, I am doubling the volume, too. I am proud of who we are and what we stand for. It's about time the Democratic rank and file do the same.

You may thrive in community. An Intentional Community

I was mired in a horribly dysfunctional relationship for nearly 20 years, which started when I was in my early 20's- and that was after coming out of a fairly dysfunctional family (profoundly depressed parents).

That being said, dysfunction was my normative reference as far as intimate relationships went. I was in my early 40's by the time I realized I needed to find a community where I would fit in. That can take many forms, but for me, it was the local Unitarian Universalist church. Here was a group of people who were accepting of me, and who go out of their way to welcome those at the fringes of society. I was astonished to learn how many of them were not afraid to be candid about their own struggles and those of their families. We all came to find peace, and to learn how to walk a different path. We share our journeys, and what we have learned along the way.

It was very healthy for me to be in a community of my choosing, where I could learn much more about taking responsibility for my own personal development, and where I could share without being judged. Every day I spent there (not just going on Sundays- I became very involved) made me realize more and more just how screwed up my situation was, which finally gave me the support to get out.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you all the best.

Do be well

@Cocktailhag

Yes, indeed.

A particular Shulz cartoon comes to mind, involving Charlie, Lucy and a football.

Ugh. I feel so dirty...

...now that I have come back to this letters section AGAIN, knowing full-well that this is a non-story about a classic GOP false-flag operation that is so transparant it is embarrassing.

And yet I come to watch the sniping and bullshit- much like one inexorably rubber-necks towards a vehicular wreck on the freeway. You know you're not supposed to, but you can't help yourself.

Wow- 450 letters and counting. Lots of ad revenue for Salon, no substance for us.

Salon runs these stories because they can be counted on to draw in the masses every time. Even people who should know better.

But I guess we (and me, evidently) don't need substance afterall, or if we do, the usual circus is impossible to resist. Sigh...

Maybe some aversion therapy is indicated here? Help me, somebody.

Original article: No more purple dinosaurs!

Art in the early days of Sesamae St.

I was born in 1961, so by the time SS burst onto the scene, I had aged-out of their target demographic, but I still watched it religiously with my baby sister. I remember being transfixed by some brilliantly done short animations, claymations and short films.

Does anyone remember the short film of a tomato shot with a screen-filling close-up lens, while some really spacey electronic music played in the background? I still remember the melody- kind of a synthetic buzzy backbeat...brrrpp-brrrpp...brrrpp-brrrpp with an overlay of a wordless falsetto doo-wopp voice. I didn't even realize what I was viewing until well into the piece. I guess that was the point. I remember that vividly, as well as the smell of toasty vacuum tube dust rising from the vent louvers of our tiny Toshiba color TeeVee (our first).

When did SS stop doing stuff like that? Pity.

"...why aren't the Dems taking better advantage of it?"

...because they don't have to. Simple, really.

This coming from a man trying to corner the potable water market...

...sorry, that dog don't hunt. I wouldn't trust that crusty SOB as far as I could throw him.

Original article: American revolutionary

The single-name policy of Salon has helped...

... me to immediately skip over the usual gorilla-biscuit flinging suspects.

So you have nothing else better to do than come here and rain on our parade... that's not even in itself is so bad, but that most of you do it so ARTLESSLY is the point. Not even stupid enough to be interesting.

No matter, I read everything "ahead" like I was taught when learning to read the news on the radio. As soon as I see your name, I fast-forward to the end.

Fuck you all and the horses you rode in on.

To quote GWB...

Who cares WHAT you think?

I think it was Obama who pitted

Original article: What Sarah Palin means

NEWS FLASH!! Lolcait pledges her vote to the GOP!!

Stop the presses!

""... I, the fourth and most conservative (Hillary Clinton voter) made that decision the day the race became McCain-Obama.

McCain just won a huge chunk of undecideds...

-----------

Mmmm-hmmm... And exactly how many voters would you like us to believe that is?

I won't be losing any sleep tonight.

Ms. Traister...

Palin the Human Shield...

The 'pugs can't wait for any democrat to seriously challenge Palin-the-lightweight, so they can go into one of their full-throated trademark hissy-fits; this time, about how the Dems are such ill-mannered cads for beating up on the pretty young lady.
