Where there's smoke...

"When your husband...calls you jealous and insane..."

Too bad we won't be getting hubby's side of the story, here.

I'm just sayin!

And another thing...

I have to wonder what the children will think of Mom's memoirs once they grow up.

I, for one, would be embarrassed to death at the thought of my mother airing this kind of dirty laundry in a book. I hope she makes lots of money, so she'll be able to afford her kid's counselling bills.

This is by no means suggesting that whatever she went through was painful. Look, I was "married" to a disordered nut-job who made my life hell, too, but guess what? After years of abuse and a very ugly breakup, I went to counselling for myself, and learned that I needed to take responsibility for my own crap and what I brought to the relationship; and most importantly, to learn why I chose to stay in the relationship. Sure, I was angry as hell by my mistreatment, but at the end of the day, I was a willing participant, and I must admit that fact as a responsible adult.

Somehow, I can't help to think that writing a book like this is a selfish act, and will not contribute to the harmony of the universe, let alone to her ex, whom she very revealingly turned into a non-person with her "ex-who?" remark. As much as her ex may have been an asshole, she does neither herself nor her family any favors by publishing trash like this.

Oh, Brightie... can we talk?

You surprised me today, at least until you went off the rails into yet another paranoic delusional rant- this merely being my opinion, of course.

I would love to understand where you are coming from. I agreed with a good part of your earlier letter today, but I don't get the whole broad-brush feminist/liberal antipathy thing-- which appears to be the cornerstone of every one of your posts.

Therefore, in an effort not to hold you up for ridicule (which your posts so often, irresitably, invite) would you please clarify two things for me, in 20 words or less?

[Brevity is the soul of wit, after all; and anyone who can't explain the most complex idea to a 12-year-old is a charlatan.]

-------------------------

In your mind (and this is for the record, folks, so pay attention):

1. Describe the essence of feminism.

2. Describe the essence of liberalism

--------------------------

Once you clarify those two things for me, ol' buddy, I promise that I will not stoop to giving you a virtual swirly the next time you write something lofty, well-reasoned, and obviously above my ken.

You will get your counter-arguments once I get something to work with.

Of course, if you choose not to waste your time doing this for someone who may be your intellectual inferior, that is your perrogative.

Whaddya say?

Hey Mr. Brightstar65, sir... Can we talk?

Hey, guy-

Looks like I am first, or close to it, on this thread. Before you craft your next cerebral analysis for our delectation, could you do me a little favor- just entre nous?

Listen, I know how frustrating it can be to not be heard, or understood. I'd like to help.

I would love to understand where you are coming from. I agreed with a good part of your earlier letter (Daddy's little hurl) today, but I don't get the whole broad-brush feminist/liberal antipathy thing-- which appears to be the cornerstone of a scant few of your posts.

Therefore, in an effort not to hold you up for ridicule (like myself, and many of the mental midgets here are oft to do) would you please clarify two things for me, in 20 words or less?

2. Describe the essence of liberalism

Um, OK- you can have 20 words for each topic.

Once you clarify those two things for me, ol' buddy, I promise that I will not stoop to giving you a virtual swirly the next time you write something lofty, well-reasoned, and obviously above my ken.

I will happily make my best attempt to prepare all the counter-arguments I can muster, once I get something to work with.

Of course, you can always choose not to waste your time doing this for your intellectual inferiors. I'll understand.

Whaddya say?

@ doppleganger

Thanks.

BTW, I'm a guy, but thanx.

heh

Looks like I got two for the price of one, here.

I can tell I'm gonna have some fun with this.

PS- how's your member?

I cant wait

Didn't check your reply to my silly question yet, but the suspense is killing me. Maybe next week, right after I finish counting the floor tiles.

BTW, what makes you think that I give a rat's ass what you, or anyone else, thinks of my pseudonym?

Thursday, May 1, 2008 08:36 AM

Stop it, Stop it, already! You're killing me!

From a prior post:

had_enough: "And, by the way, what's ad-hominem about asking if you get laid much?"

Brightstar65: "You have to ask? God you are stupid."

OMG!! I just wet 'em!!
