Watchdog journalists are so 20th century! We are much safer with the toothless pack of lapdog journalists now groomed and hand fed by the power elites in government and commerce (if they are not one and the same): these cuddly little puppies aren't going to provoke any of that dangerous thinking about those pesky facts.
The addle-brained old fighter pilot seems determined to fly his campaign straight into weaponry he himself launched. Isn't there anybody on his staff whose sole job is to prevent suicidal strategic blunders like relying on the venomous racism dripping from these scurrilous innuendoes? I hope not.
I know that the Republicans love to portray Gov. Palin as coming from "outside the Beltway", but hasn't it dawned on them that ordinary folk might feel uncomfortable about voting for someone whose ideas so clearly come from outside the Milky Way?
The White House website has a new feature, The Office of Public Liaison, which allows us to voice our thoughts and concerns on policy issues. I intend to use it to express my disgust with the DOJ's embrace of the perverted Bush version of State Secrets doctrine. Perhaps if enough of us tell the President how and why this is a profoundly misguided policy there might be a reassessment of what went on in San Francisco yesterday. President Obama needs to realize he has given himself a black eye and a bloody nose with this terrible mistake. Restore the Rule of Law? Not by doing this.
