As for Edwards, I think he deserves whatever slams he gets. The guy is despicable, and his actions really, really hurt the progressive cause (not to mention his wonderful wife and family). I always liked what he had to say, but could never bring myself to back him with any money. Whereas I had no problem forking over money to support Obama, even though I don't always agree with what he's saying.

I hate to credit my gut for steering me in the right direction, because we've had so many idiots running the country off the rails the past two decades making decisions with their bowels instead of their brains, but this time at least it looks like my intuition picked up on something my intellect missed.

And yeah, Howard Dean deserves much of the credit for Obama's victory and the Democrats retaking and then expanding their lead in Congress. It was no conspiracy - just the result of strong leadership leadership which has some convictions and is grounded in reality. No wonder the DLC Democrats formed a circular firing squad and took him down in 2004 - he was a much bigger threat to their power than George Bush ever was.

Dean seems to have finally taken down the failuremeisters at the DLC, while Obama appears to be busy co-opting some of their more effective players into his own Dean-like organization. Smart move. With the DLC hollowed-out Obama will be able to consolidate power away from DLC disasters like the Clintons and their disasterous strategy of "triangulation" (i.e. capitulating to every dumb-assed idea the Republicans and their Wall Street crook buddies spew out, from the strong dollar policy to free trade with China), which left the Democratic Party in the woods for nearly two decades.

Maybe now we'll see some sane fiscal, industrial and energy policy coming from Washington, DC for the first time since the Kennedy assassination.

Why do women need Playgirl when there's so much gay porn to be had out there? I only know one woman who was ever much into porn, but she certainly preferred gay porn to porn specifically targeted to straight women. In theory the latter should have been more appealing, but in practice if you want pictures of a hot guy it's hard to beat the selection gay porn offers (no pun intended!). Something for everyone.
