Ah, I was never a great believer in coddling the world for the kiddos. They heard a strong word or two in their formative years. Didn't seem to affect them much, they're all successful young adults.
But doing it all again in your fifties? Ouch. She talked you into it huh?
In point of fact, she's just really dumb. That's it that's all.
Socialized all her life to rely on being girlie to get by, learning stuff about "US Americans" and "The Iraq" is really just a useless skill she doesn't need.
There's no agenda here, political or otherwise, she's just dumb.
Ah I guess I'm old fashioned about this.
It saddens me that there seems to be no one who will talk sense to this young woman. Where is the woman's father?
Also I have to agree with the author, Ms Silverman's routine was cruel and smacked of shooting fish in a barrel.
Very poor form.
