His ancestors ? fyi - not every black person in America is linked to slavery !!!!

what your not getting is the bigger picture of his own racism.

and the 'white' blood in his veins isn't there illegaly but by choice - his mother is white and his father was black.

You are playing the race card.

Whites haven't had anything done to them by blacks? try telling that to the man out looking for a job , was more qualified but didn't get one because they needed to fill a quota. I'm not an advocate of hiring one or another over skin color , but by who is best for the job.

I've lived my whole life in Detroit. Watched it go from a working clean functioning city of 80% white to a burnt out shell boardering on take over with a population of now 80% black that can't even afford to keep the african american museum open unless by city 'loans' and grants. The place is a tomb. empty except for school kids via grants from the city. Yet black people here still try to blame it on the white man.

hey - my gran was inslaved in the Ukraine in 1931-32. forced to work the farms and hand over everything to the government where 6-7 million Ukrainians died from starvation. And here we are not even 100 years later and you don't hear them belly aching about it. Some watched siblings being eaten by starving soldiers ! raped , used as cattle. Of course it didn't last as long as slavery here , but my gran lived through it and doesn't live in the past with it.

what I hear Obama saying by that quote in his book is that he isn't fond of his white self. to put it lightly. Now what if he stated he could understand how whites feel ? that his white blood makes him understand that anger whites feel ?

And I am not making 'stuff up ' by pointing out that Obama supporters have repeatedly stated they would not vote for Clinton if she took the nomination. try reading.

Aside from vote against the Iraq war , which was great by the way , what else has Obama done ? He's basically assumed Clintons stances on other issues when early on he was muddled about. and sure he voted against the war , but has not in any way voted against funding it. might as well have voted for the war. voting to fund it doesn't take a stance on stopping it.

I like Obama. But while he gives great speeches he has no substance when he isn't. he seems unsure of what to say other than the same tag lines.

I never said I'd vote for McCrazy McCain. and if you bothered reading you'd know that. I've always stated that no matter who was nominated dems should vote for them. your not making any sense.

you could qualify for food stamps and as a non working very disabled person I should be getting them. and I should try. But don't with to be a burden on society unless I really have to be.

So much for elitist? yes you sound elitist.

Pounce, do you ever read Lynda Barry?

In her book 100 Demons she writes about hate...and she says that hating someone because they're ugly isn't the same thing as hating them because they've pushed you down.

I guess that's the difference I see between Reverend Wright, and say, someone like David Duke, that's all.

I think that this election isn't going to fix racism, obviously, or sexism, and maybe some of Obama's supporters were sensitive about Clinton probably in part because they had high expectations of her...

But what we're about to see in the general I think will be...on a different level. I'm not looking forward to it.

    peace.

no haven't read that. but the line ' hating someone because they're ugly isn't the same thing as hating them because they've pushed you down.'

eventually the ugly being hated gets pushed down. just a matter of time.

I too had higher expectations of Clinton. And of Obama. His staunch refusal to wear the flag lapel pin I agreed with - then just to gain votes he put it on. He stood by wright and gave a great speech about what he though and then turned around. It makes me wonder of his own convictions are taken that lightly. He is just another politician really. no different than Clinton.

He and his wife can appear arrogant and we can find racist area's in him as well. I don't think this should be held against him.

As I've stated in other posts - there is NO ONE who hasn't some sort of predjuice . NO ONE.

and for the one who says they don't have any ? they are lying.

It's like masturbation. you either do it or your lying .

    peace to you as well.

and yes the generals ....... I can only imagine.

Everyone is counting Clinton out. or screaming she should get out. Yet there is always , albeit slim , chance she could actually win in Denver and take the nomination.

I like the fact that she's still punching.Of not giving up. If Obama is nominated he can thank this roughing up to getting him ready for a real fight against McCain. Where the gloves come off. because before this he wasn't ready.

    Here's why - A theory

She's trying to force Obama to choose her as a running mate. She's begged for the VP position and Obama refuses to consider it. Would you? Imagine the first African American President of the United States of America. The United States of America! Please think about it historically, fellow Americans. Would you choose an egocentric sociopath with an egocentric sociopathic husband as your vice president?
