For those on here who allege Californians support Dianne, this was before they could see what she has done to undermine her own party. If Pelosi had any spine, she would pull her and Chuck Schumer aside and tell them that there will be no repeat performances here of what you did with Mukasey. Dianne should be removed from having any say in any military appropiations and should not be allowed to make a vote on any matters relating to wiretapping. In other words, strip her of her committee posts that have permitted her to be so influential on votes. It is time to play hardball with this woman who has joined the leagues of Traitor Joe LIEberman. California law permits a recall of a Senator. A petition drive should be taken up, and if it takes money from outside California to get it done, it will be done. If Californians can't see what she is doing is wrong, the rest of the country will see to it she is gone.
I have yet to read an essay by Mr. Blumenthal that is not on the money and excellently laid out. It was only a matter of time before some ally took the Administration's admiration for dictatorship and used it for home advantage, as has Musharraf. To cite Lincoln as a model for what he did is an appalling act of chutzpah. Soon some ally will claim that rendition and torture are acceptable means to combat homegrown terrorism in their country, citing us as an example.
Anonymous comment about Michelle: Get real, Michelle from the South Side of Chicago for real.

The puffpiece by Traister made me almost gag on the saccharin goo she was dripping all over the story...what tripe! Anonymous' taking to task the "safe for whitey" Obama campaign was amazing...don't want to scare off the white liberals by showing up at black colleges, promoting issues that affect the urban poor...their issues don't exist, once again, even for a black candidate!
I really do not want a theologian commenting on any aspect of atheism...we all know many scientists are "religious", that is no surprise, yet science came out of a way of understanding the world that myth and fairy tales just cannot fathom or reckon with...tales of a deity with a beard floating in the ether will never explain a black hole...just the black hole in Haught's snooty logic.
The extent to which people care about Hillary's appearance and how they obsess about it reveals more about those who are bothering to pay attention than anything else...sick, sad, and pathetic.
Why wouldn't the world take us to task for our absurd policy on global warming, fostered by an Administration that cares less about the environment than it does appeasing donors and corporate interests? The dressing down America got was more than well deserved, chiefly because the rest of the world has no respect for a country that deceives, lies and dictates to other countries how they should form their policy on global warming when we can't even get our act together on our own pollution problems. Such a scenario was inevitable when the Bush Administration has done everything in its power to minimize the almost universal understanding that pollutants are contributing to an inevitable alteration in the climate system that can have profound effects on the sustainability of life on Earth. We have seen in the past how slight variations in Earth temperature, just from the effects of a volcanic eruption, can throw growing seasons into complete havoc, and dry up lush farmlands in a matter of months.
New Hampshire voters got it wrong in 2004...will they do it again? Old Coot McPain has zero credibility, and if NH voters want to be the laughingstock of the nation, they will choose this whacky old fart as their Presidential nominee.
I am afraid that today's terrible tragedy in Pakistan has underscored the message Hillary is putting forth...I am not one to think scare tactics are a good idea, since the Bushies used it so often they now look like Chicken Little. But in this instance, Hillary is spot on. That the Clintons, including Bill and Chelsea, are doing a full court press for Hillary, I have no problem with...now, if either one of them didn't do it, the press would be prattling on about it, as did one wag on the radio who couldn't resist pointing out Hillary was alone in her Christmas video.
JIMISON WROTE:
[Hillary Clinton]...is polarizing and divisive as indicated by the fact that she constantly polls negatives above 40 percent. In short, America is not comfortable with Hillary and never will be.
The old, the tired, the boring, the sleep inducing argument of neocons and loony lefties who just can't abide Hillary pulverizing losers like Obama,Edwards, McCain, Hucky or Rudy. It's gonna happen...get used to it!
Mr. Shapiro and the chattering classes clearly loved this catfight that devolved into cheap shots by both Hillary and Obama...shameful, useless, and off the mark...Obama has a way of saying things that are just unacceptable: as in his comment about Edwards...I see nothing wrong with what Hillary shot at Obama about a slumlord...too bad! He will face far worse from Karl Rove and Company. It looks as though he will never get my vote, ever.
An Obama shill wrote:
By saying Sen. Clinton was able to "stay on message," do you mean she was able to keep brazenly lying? If so, I'd agree.
What lie? Obama sucked in the debate, made assinine comments through and through. The man has a lousy record and it was pointed out to him...if Hillary is called a liar by hacks like you, then TOUGH! If you are a Dem, get out of the party, if a Republican or Independent, who cares what you think?
