Do Your Best

But for those who think she will be "abandoning" the controlling woman, she had already done that before the diagnosis.

Pretending to still care, would be the height of hypocrisy for the LW

I find this commenters remarks heartless...this is not about the writer's feelings anymore...showing compassion for someone suffering is not a chore, and her unlikeable personality does not mean you run away from her. Selfishness is not the answer here. As others have said, if the woman is dying, to endure her for a short time is a minor consideration. Knowing that you helped out even someone who wasn't always exactly a perfect friend shows others that you rise above pettiness and your own concerns. Besides, you will feel better knowing you did what you could, rather than running away to protect yourself.

Podhoretz is detestable

How nauseating is that Podhoretz piece, which sums up the scary resentment some whites have for African Americans. That a Jew would write this is even more repellent. It is of course Podhoretz's ilk who felt it incumbent to build a schism with blacks where many liberal Jews were doing the opposite. In bonding with right wing racists, Podhoretz seems to forget that those same racists who share his irrational hatred of blacks would in an instant have no problem calling him a "kike" or worse. Truly the man has a sick, warped mind. So does his pathetic son, John at the NY Post.

No sympathy

Craig should just get out...he is an embarrassment...if you can't fess up to who you are, then you are lying to your Idahoan constituents. I am offended, however, by this part of disorderly conduct charge:

"The Defendant knew or should have known his entrance into Sgt. Karsnia's stall with his eyes, foot and hand are the type of acts that would 'tend reasonably to arouse alarm, anger or resentment in others.'"

Only to someone who is a homophobe. A man who is not afraid of his sexuality would just say "what are you doing? Get out of here!" End of story...no reason for drama!

Nasty, naughty boy!

The bad, naughty, nasty boys' club

And if Mitch McConnell or Lindsay Graham make a peep of protest, Craig will just "out" them and take them down with him!

Lindsey to Larry: Larry, you nasty old queen! You are going to get all us other girls in trouble...you BITCH!

Mitch: I mean, come on now, Larry, you won't be able to get your GARDEN magazines anymore at Union Station without those mean, nasty press people harrassing you...wouldn't it be better to retire to Idaho and work the tea rooms where no one would even see you who mattered?

Just wrong in so many ways

One usually has to read Paglia's musings as mere cant. Her latest musings do not fail to disappoint. Although, for a change, she actually does say some things that actually are based in logic and sense on Iraq...but then she careens off into never never land with a screed on Hillary, most unfortunate, based on no intelligent observation, merely positing her biases. Whereas Hillary bashing (my, what a novelty!) was a warmup, Paglia goes off the deep end with her global warming rant. Once again, she proclaims without facts, denying evidence that not only has become indisputable but is rock solid. Never one to delve into a subject with too much concern for truth, I find her latest ravings a supreme display of Paglia's egomaniacal nature. She's Ann Coulter without the cocktail dress...on a 7am talk show.

When Idiots Attack

Glenn Beck is a symbol of CNN's unwinding into becoming a stepchild to the Loony Tune news at Fox. He is a buffoon, an ex-drunk who seems to still be in an alcohol-induced haze. His continually irresponsible comments are beyond the pale, and CNN needs to get rid of him.

Poor analysis

Edwards came off badly, not well, and Russert and Williams joining in the attack on Hillary was not only unseemly, but unprofessional. I have said it elsewhere and I will say it here: attacking a woman relentlessly WILL antagonize women voters, it is guaranteed. That is how Hillary won in NY...I see no evidence of a blunder on what Hillary said about Spitzer in NY...your interpretation is odd...Maybe I will let a blogger at The Nation put it perfectly for me:

Hillary clearly won the debate. She was attacked by everyone except the classy Kucinich and Richardson, who stuck to policy not personality, and she managed to remain unscathed. Edwards was shrill and personal in his attacks against the Senator which is nothing new. Obama was muddled as usual and in trying to step it up against Senator Clinton he seemed to confuse himself more than usual. Of course that is the Democratic Party and politics: Devour your own so they have little chance in the general election. However, it is appalling and troublesome that Tim Russert continues to be harder on Senator Clinton than on the rest of the field, and one could say clearly against her. How many soft ball opportunities did Williams and Russert give to Obama and Edwards to attack Senator Clinton? Not one opportunity was afforded to Senator Clinton to make any attacks on other candidates. But, she has stuck to a positive campaign, and people seem to understand that she is the best choice.

Now, if Mr. Shapiro wrote this, I would say he was making a correct analysis of the debate. Edwards time is past, and he will be demolished by Republicans.

Sterling commentary

Once again, Sidney hits the ground running with an excellent analysis of why Muaksey CANNOT be AG...what I would like to see is David Addington dragged before Congress to discuss memos on torture and the lot. He needs to be put on war criminal charges like Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Alberto, John Yoo, and Condi.
