The name game

Barring that, do whatever you can to help Barack Dukakis lose so we can be done with this ridiculously unqualified empty suit even if it means suffering with McCain for four years.

-- lolcait

What's in a name? HUSSEIN is in his name...

I mean COME ON now, are people outside the urban centers and liberal bastions EVER going to elect ANYONE with a name that has that third rail attached to it??? I think not.

Call it ignorant all you like, but names carry alot of weight...and this one is filled with lots of baggage...

This kind of thing makes or breaks candidates...this one will break him, mark my word.

So true

No wonder the leadership has been quietly sitting this out the whole time (notwithstanding Howard Dean's little tit-for-tats at the Clintons for their past attempts to thwart him). This is like an accidental perfect recipe.

Let it cook a little while longer.

-- Amity

The impatience of Obama camp and MSM to frame the speed of the primary season is absurd...Obama doesn't get to decide, his fans don't, and most assuredly, we won't allow Howard Dean to do any more damage to the party than he has already wreaked by putting his wayward two cents in.

I sigh, too...

Now, what'll be really interesting is if this forum just gets overrun with Obama supporters hurling numb-skulled insults to those opposed to them, filled with such intelligent missives as "you're an evil RepubliCON" of if a worthwhile discussion results.

*sigh*

Bradgutting, I feel your pain! Salon is civil compared to some of the virulently nasty, hate-filled screeds posters put at Huffingtonpost...OMG!

???

What is this crap? Mayor Daley's administration is as corrupt as any in Chicago history...don't try to paint it as some rosy nirvana since Obama came to prominence, because it ain't.

Self-righteous?

Couldn't you portray yourself that way, Mr. Greenwald?

What TO YOU might seem trivial, as an Obama shill, may not to anyone else...you will not be a judge for the narrative in the campaign.

Intruders

One must always remember that it is people who are intruders and problems, not the wild animals...when they both come face to face, there can be problems, but the Indians always managed to coexist with nature, in fact they celebrated that coexistence in their tribal rituals and religions. That coexistence was common among many cultures until Western Europeans tried to impose their misguided Christian based notions of man conquering nature on the wilderness.

Who really cares

The pundits like Shapiro love to dwell on such nonsense as this exercise in futility and speculation. Counting out the Clintons is a serious misjudgement...they have been before, and risen up again to fight a new fight. I would be careful about claiming RIP to Clintonism...VERY unwise.

Meawhile...

On to the most important story there is...which Senator is taking time to do their duties???

Missed votes % votes with party

Obama 41.8% 96.7

Hillary 31.7% 97.2

McCain 60% 88.3

Although McCain voted least in the Senate and Obama shares his equally dismal record, it looks as though McCain has managed to follow his party less than either Hillary or Obama...the other interesting statistic here is that Obama and Hillary virtually are tied for voting with other members of their party, giving the lie to charges that Hillary is Republican lite...if she is, then Obama would be also by their voting record...so end this garbage Obama camp talking point now.

Obama and McCain have failed miserably at representing their states so far on the Senate floor...neither one should get a pass on this sorry milestone.

Obama's fans have no game

...namely, that Joan Walsh fixates on wedge issues, framed in a way that makes people mad in lieu of substantive reporting.

There is no doubt in my mind that the way Joan frames her posts is purposely divisive, meant to provoke anger from Obama supporters which leads to anger at us from Clinton supporters.

********

One thing Obamabots need to learn and learn fast is that the wedge issues win elections...if you don't understand this, then don't pontificate on politics...notice alot of Obamabots are distinctly and seriously naive about fundamentals of the game...listen up, wise up, and get a handle on some basic tenets of the trade, or don't comment.

NO!

LOL!!!!

Hillary Clinton's swing state advantage

New Gallup numbers. Barack Dukakis is doomed.

http://tinyurl.com/57tbbp

-- lolcait

I love that tag for him...he really will be the next liberal Dem candidate who sets us up for a heartbreaker...why repeat disastrous results of Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry?

This man may tout a different message, but he is a classic liberal, and liberals do not win the White House.

Wednesday, May 28, 2008 11:21 PM

Will it matter?

New Gallup poll validates Hillary's arguments about swing states...some think that she and Bill just say this to spin...well, surprise, surprise...they know of what they speak...:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/107539/Hillary-Clintons-SwingState-Advantage.aspx

Obama has zero advantage in even in the states he has won against McCain, and she beats McCain handily in the states she has won...racks up a larger share of electoral votes than Obama has based on states he has won or could win based on current data...

Obama fans are going to need to retool their talking points...the ones they have been touting look as if they mean nothing.
