Win what? For who?
[Read the article: How Hillary could tank]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It is ever so very likely Hillary will somehow get to the DEM primary contests 'Win Line' first and will then confront whomever the GOP puts up against her.
Hillary Clinton for the DC DEMS makes lots of political sense being she very likely has a sizeable "court in waiting" of DC DEMS who want to get back in the WH ever so badly. She is no Howard Dean. She is pure DC DEM.
It is not to hard to see the DC DEM angles being played and gamed by pushing for Hillary.
It comes down to getting rid of Bush/Cheney finally and having to play 'chutes and ladders' American politics style. Either go with more of the discredited and fully "bushwack fatigued" last eight years of WH run amok or go with Hillary, the DC DEMS player of choice.
Or go with none of the above. For whatever reasons based on apathy, skepticism, cynicism, pureness of heart, malice of heart or the simple desire to see WashDC awash in Global Warming melt off water.
Hillary is a DC DEM.
She certainly is no Howard Dean.
And she likely is going to only become more grounded in the DC DEMS camp once she has the primary games out of the way.
Hillarys record in WashDC may for some go back to her coming to WashDC with Bill in 1992. For others it may be when she got into the U.S.Senate as New York Senator Hillary Clinton.
Whatever the start date may be her record has not been one that has moved intra-American conflicts over wealth disparity, healthcare disparity, social security and education disparity or answered this one -- American Militarism/Imperialism--Good or Bad?
Hillary has not been a standout Bush/Cheney disabler.
Hillary very likely would not be a U.S.Senator or in this race for the WH in 2008 if her last name was not Clinton.
Hillary is a DC DEM and that bunch has been serving up some damn sour political cole-slaw since last Novemeber 2006.
Way too much Bush/Cheney enabling is being done by these DC DEMS and Hillary is sending signals (Kyl-Lieberman anyone?) that she is fully in the DC DEM WashDC groove.
Hillary is likely not going to face a truly formidable GOP contender in 2008. If the DC DEMS are ruinously free of battle instincts and have repeatedly demonstrated spinal absences that would confound the best of chiropractors the GOP has surely went to CrazyTown and plans on staying there for a long while.
So it is not a matter of Hillary facing a coherent GOP.
The Bush/Cheney regime has left enough of a debris field for the GOP that it will take years to clear off. The GOP Dead Enders may not care but since this what may be 30% of Americans seem to be incapable of reality engagement does what they think matter?
Of course there will be lots of Hillary Hate being passed around by the Hate Clintons Gang and the media who feed the bottom dwellers ever so willingly. Expect it.
Hillary is pure DC DEM and that means the tribe which hopes to regain WH power behind her is not going to be where progressive or lefty Americans need WashDC,the WH and Congress to be in 2009.
These days WashDC is pretty much about money, party favors and build ins and spending American dollars in ways that seem quite oblivious to fiscal reality or heedful of any fiscal cautionary signs.
Americans need some genuine leadership and willingness to take on and battle for less disparity in American wealth, healthcare, social security, education.
Someone who will take on WashDC "funny money" taxation ruses and the current WashDC fashion of 'borrow, spend and pretend' that is fueling American Militarism/Imperialism abroad and putting at great risk several coming generations of Americans on the fiscal and social/economic risks WashDC 'funny money' ways of governance these days are heading into.
Hillary, being a DC DEM,does not stand out for integrity of political courage. It is very unlikely she will take on AIPAC,AEI or the K Street Corporatists. The same forces that are knee capping the DC DEMS in Congress today after last Novembers election results.
The day I hear or see Hillary Clinton denounce Joe Lieberman or state in plain terms that AIPAC,AEI and K STREET are going to have to reset how they do what they do then I will know Hillary is flying a battle flag I can/will follow.
This is a day I dont expect to see. Hillary will not fly any such battle flag. It would not be what a DC DEM would do. I see little point in following Hillary where she and her DC DEM backers are going.
Hillary may win in November 2008.Great. Win what? For who?
