Just Very Pathetic.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Given there are only 100 United States Senators the odds of one being in a mens restroom stall and getting caught up in a police sanctioned public space/sexual behaviour suppression net are long. Indeed must be quite long.
Larry Craig being in public office and being an American Senator and politician who has clearly defined himself in ways that make this story so strangely attractive surely knew he was not playing a safe game.
One can imagine if this had been a DEM and in particular a well known DEM who tends to like to "define" DEM values in DC this story would have been pounced on like a lost canary at a cat convention by the GOPers and several Righty MSM outlets.
American politics so very often are just damn silly and so much of the silliness has to do with the posturing,positioning and politiking engaged in to create issues which then can be used to drum up support/opposition or set voters up for electioneering sway and misdirection.
Example: G.W.Bush is a Tax Cutter,Tight Spender Guy.The GOP is for tax cuts and tight federal spending.
Truth Is: If you are really rich or a Wall Streeter G.W. has cut your federal taxes.
Lie Is: G.W.Bush and the GOP are not tight spenders and have spent taxpayer/borrowed money in big ways(see Iraq) over and over.
Example: Larry Craig is a Family Values,D of M Guy.
Truth Is: Larry Craig is a guy.
Lie Is: Larry Craig does what he claims to be against.
The American Right surely plays the game well and seems very gifted at coining black/white or left/right buzz terms and themes.
Funny thing about being so good at this game is the Right then impales itself deeply when the inevitable happens and the odds of one American Senator out of 100 who is clearly a Family Values spear carrier suddenly come up short.
The GOP these days has plenty to get impaled on and it must indeed be unwelcomed news that a front line warrior for Values and Moral Ways has fallen down in ways not good for his Tribe.
All this only underlining once again just how crazy and loopy all the DC GOPer BS was during the Bill Clinton Inquisitions back there in the 1990's.
One can expect that should the WH go to a DEM in NOV.2008 that come Jan.2009 the GOP will suddenly rediscover and pursue in all ways great and small all the Kabuki gimmicks/ploys from the 1990's Reign of GOPster Madness.
Without a trace of irony to be found amongst the DC GOPers.
It is funny in a very pathetic way.
