Howard Dean . . . must be demoted in disgrace at once. What a poor showing of leadership.
Why? Because he believes party rules should be abided by? Personally I think he's been fantastic in this process.
No because he has been ducking all this time, because he has been disingenuous in his approach to the problem and because all this mess is of his own doing, no one else's.
Our delegates must be seated as they were elected.
No, they the vote was contrary to party rules. There is no reason Florida should be allowed to blithely break party rules.
There is one very good reason, besides of course the fact that it wasn't the local democratic party who broke the rules. That reason is that Florida is a key swing state that could, and probably will, be crucial in deciding the next general election.
1. We had a historic record turnout in Florida.
Good for you.
For me[us] and the Democratic party. The DNC just seem not to understand it yet. McCain can count with a great deal of those votes if things continue as they are. Why do you think that Florida Democrats went out to vote in record numbers?
2. Hillary not only defeated Obama, but also McCain.
She wasn't running against McCain. . .
But she will, And regardless of your narrow minded comment, it was a great indicative that only Hillary Clinton can win the general election.
3. The election date wasn't picked by the local democrats, but by the Republican dominated local legislature, under threat of veto by the governor if any date compliant with the DNC rules was picked.
Democratic leaders were approached by the DNC to try and work out a way to hold the election in compliance with the rules but they refused to work with the DNC. You can try and blame the Republicans, but the Democratic leadership had the opportunity to fix the issue, but wanted to go ahead with the unsanctioned vote (apparently thinking they would be allowed to do so if they just insisted on it).
That is just utter Obama bull shit. The democrats in the Florida legislature introduced an amendment to vote on a date compliant with the capricious will of Dean. The governor threatened a veto and there was a real possibility to lose the paper ballots provision. And who was going to pay for a separate election? You? The reason why the re-do was rued out today was as valid then . . . NO MONEY.
4. Obama violated his own pledge not to campaign in FL, with a blitz of TV ads in all major cable networks.
This is just disinginuous [ sic ] and has nothing to do with anything. He ran national ads which he couldn't block from Florida. If the vote wasn't going to count there was no need to insure that national ads didn't air in Florida since it wouldn't really matter.
More Obama bullshit. This national media purchase lasted the three weeks before the Florida primaries and not a second after. It hasn't been repeated since.
As a Floridian my pledge is that I would vote for McCain if Obama is elected without the delegates of my state. If he is elected with the delegates of my state seated as they are I will simply not vote. Hopefully, I will not have to face either scenario and vote for Hillary Clinton as the 44th president of the United States.
So basically you're saying your a selfish child.
Oh, Name calling. The ever ready resource of the perfect rabid Obamaniac. Why would I vote for an illegitimate candidate? You are maybe right. I should vote for McCain no matter the circumstance in which Obama is nominated. Anyway, who cares> That is just a hypothetical. Obama wont be the Democratic nominee.
Maybe you should tell us first what reality are you based on.
Obama campaign wasted enormous resources to promote the uncommitted vote in Michigan just to show that more people were against Hillary Clinton than for her in that state. Still Hillary won 56% of the vote in Michigan, comfortably beating the 31% uncommitted. You do know that 56% gives you a victory in any event, do you?
Here is Florida we kicked his ass fair and square. Despite the coincidental national media purchase (never before and never since, just during the FL primary) which placed Obama in our TV screens over and over and over again, in clear violation of his pledge not to campaign here.
. . . the people's business?
One thing is violating the law like Spitzer did, an another is to have an affair or two. You know like in the gay rights issue, what you do behind the closed doors of your bedrrom is only your business.
Are you really such a prude Alex? or are you just trying to neutralize another Hillary superdelegate?
