    I have just called Sen. Feingold's office (since I'm in Wisconsin) and Rep. Conyers' office with this:

    ""[I]f the President be connected, in any suspicious manner, with any person, and there be grounds to believe he will shelter him, the House of Representatives can impeach him; they can remove him if found guilty…" -James Madison

    When Conyers was talking with George Stephanopulous (?) yesterday, I was wondering how Conyers would approach the hearings into the commutation, because it seemed like it was just a wierd thing in the Constitution that nothing could be done about. Today I read that Madison, one of the Framers, wrote what I quote above. See this at:

    This looks like a solid Constitutional foundation for impeachment. If it looks like Duhbya is protecting his own ass (and the Evil One's) over this, then that proposition can be investigated, and they can both be impeached if there's reason to believe they're protecting their own asses.

    Indeed they are forcing Congress' hand. And this is precisely what the committee members expected. They're giving BushCo enough rope to hang themselves with. Not unexpected, and not a problem.
