Traitors

Anyone who calls Jane Fonda a traitor is, in fact, a traitor. The two most criminal acts in the last 100 years of the history of the U.S. are the war in VietNam and the war in Iraq. Anyone who supported or supports these wars is a traitor. You wouldn't know American values if they kicked you in the face.

You don't know your history very well, do you? Every Jew, Roma, and others killed by the Germans and their surrogates were killed by Christians - every single one. Moreover, the greatest Holocaust in the history of the world - the extermination of indigenous peoples in the Americas from 1492 to the present - 120 million and still counting - was perpetrated by Christians. None of that excuses Stalin or Pol Pot but you still need to get your facts straight before you pontificate here.

However much we might disagree, and my guess is that that disgreement would be profound, please do not provide any identifying information. I won't do so either - it's way too dangerous. I did it once some years ago, and I got death threats, plastic grenades on my front porch, etc.

Also, how did you miss that the THE central tenet of Nazi ideology was extermination of world Jewry - that qualifies as a religious war by any definition. Also, the Spaniards, Portuguese and the English and the French all claimed to be doing god's work as they exterminated tens of millions. The whole philosophical basis for Manifest Destiny was Christianity.

Unlike some other atheists/unbelieveers, I don't care what you believe. That's your business. I just want your religion, and everyone else's to stay out of my life and away from my family. I will return the courtesy. Unfortunately, we don't have religious freedom in America like that today. It exists only in France to my knowledge.

Ron Paul

Paul is a Libertarian whack job who opposes ALL environmental protection, opposes Social Security, opposes Medicare and Medicaid, opposes unemployment insurance, opposes the minimum wage, opposes child labor laws and on and on and on. He is a social Darwinist piece of filth.

Nonsense

My wife and I both have senior positions at a Fortune 50 financial institution. If I did anything, and I mean anything at all, to assist her in any way, I would be fired instantly. Wolfie was and is totally unethical and should have been terminated with no compensation or consideration whatever.

Dangerous

Ron Paul is, by far, the most dangerous candidate in the race. Yes, his foreign policy ideas are quite sensible and he's correct on the war on drugs among some other things, but, then, lefties and Libertarians have long had some modest common ground that should have been exploited long ago. BUT, Paul opposes Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security, unemployment insurance, the minimum wage and virtually ALL environmental protection. Left to his own devices, he would turn the U.S. into a laissez-faire, social Darwinist nightmare controlled by corporate predators. He talks a lot about personal freedom, but, in the end, all we'd have is the freedom to get screwed.

Mikes Pace

'God-fearing' Americans know right from wrong? Really. Like grotesque anti-homosexual bigotry, widespread support for torture, kangaroo courts, detention without trial, environmental rape and devastation? Not my idea of right vs wrong.

Whar nonsense. All of that is happening right now without tariffs. Eliminate Korean subsidies to their manufacturing industries and then we can talk.

James Somers

Hannah Arendt may have resisted the advances of Strauss, but she did not resist the advances of Martin Heidigger - an existentialist philosopher and rather ardent Nazi. Moreover, she resumed contact with him after the war.

Not possible to be a Christian Druze. The Druze are Muslim - at least sort of - offshoot not really considered Muslim by Sunni or Shia but definitely not Christian.

Compensation

I think that the author is not clear on the concept of compensation in the TV industry. Laurie doesn't make a solid six figure income - I do that working for a giant bank - he makes a solid six figure income per episode - i.e. several million per year.

Desert Son

Liked your references. This one also seems to fit.

The Destruction of Sennacherib

The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold,

And his cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold;

And the sheen of their spears was like stars on the sea,

When the blue wave rolls nightly on deep Galilee.

Like the leaves of the forest when Summer is green,

That host with their banners at sunset were seen:

Like the leaves of the forest when Autumn hath blown,

That host on the morrow lay withered and strown.

For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,

And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;

And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,

And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!

And there lay the steed with his nostril all wide,

But through it there rolled not the breath of his pride;

And the foam of his gasping lay white on the turf,

And cold as the spray of the rock-beating surf.

And there lay the rider distorted and pale,

With the dew on his brow, and the rust on his mail:

And the tents were all silent, the banners alone,

The lances unlifted, the trumpet unblown.

And the widows of Ashur are loud in their wail,

And the idols are broke in the temple of Baal;

And the might of the Gentile, unsmote by the sword,

Hath melted like snow in the glance of the Lord!
