option ARM

I work in the mortgage business and am glad to see someone talking about Option mortgages, these are bad news. According to lenders 80% of the people with these mortgages are making the minimum payment (negative ammortization). In my experience at least half the people with these do not understand that when they make the minimum payment, their ballance goes up. They are woefully uninformed.

Andrew, it would be interesting to see computer models of the economy if we had not had this housing bubble, which is partly caused by crazy mortgages.

y guess is that had it not occured, our economy would have tanked after Sept 11.

what will your third party represent that does not already have voice somewhere in the government now?

Um...small, fiscally responsable government.

"It's like arguing that mob protection isn't the best way to ensure people's health."

Maybe it is. Do you have any research that demonstrates otherwise.

The American dream is alive and well

Crearly, anyone reguardless of intelegence or compitence can become AG. It's so buteaful it makes me want to cry.

US attorney that prosecuted the 2 border patrol agents had been on Lou Dodds and Glen Beck several times.

Original article: Whose war is it, anyway?

Actually,

We keep hearing that a political solution is needed, but we think that political solution is one unified country. If the Iraqis idea of a political solution is 3 seperate countries, this will be more difficult than we think. Personally, I don't have a problem with the Iraquis, or other Asians and Africans, throwing off their colonial borders.

I still think Gore cost Nader the election.

You are saying that because we have not discovered them they are not there.

What about Tancredo

He was the only Republican that went to the NAACP debate. He seems like he actually wants to be presidebt of all Americans, not just the republican base.

Friday, July 27, 2007 01:15 PM

ThI have been saying this for a while

Everyone judges the economy based on their own situation. If you judge things based on your portfolio, things are good. I fyou judge things based on your checking account, things are bad.

Monday, July 30, 2007 11:39 AM

Have any of you ever been in a negoation?

Or even married? Sometimes people or groups need to get some space, some perspective. They may come back ready to get something done.

Monday, July 30, 2007 03:42 PM

I have got to disagree

"The moral problem is always present, whether you opt to try and form a third party, or retire to a cave on a hilltop. If your conscience isn't confronted, it's generally because you succumb to the pretense that you aren't involved."

I support a third party because neither of the two mainstream parties have platforms I support. I don't want a continuation of the current policies reguarding the war on terror (republicans), nor do I want socialized healthcare (democrats) and those are the choices.

Monday, July 30, 2007 04:08 PM

My mistake, your absolutly right

about government healthcare, once we have it all the great service provided by the government after Katrina can be extended to include healthcare.

"Are you suggesting Americans are incapable of doing what other countries do? Why not leave if you think this country is so bad?"

Is this Carl Rove?

Original article: Pelosi: It's about the war

How can people say this,

"George Bush would survive impeachment". Look at the prcentages of American that would like to see impeachment, then consider the fact that there has not been a major campain for it. On their own, nearly 50% of the people have come to that conclusion, a big push by congress could do it.

But it wont happen, the Republicans have gotten to where they are because they are aggressive, and the Democrats have gotten to where they are because they have no backbone. They control both houses of congress, all the money, but they still can't stop the war they were elected to stop.

Wednesday, August 1, 2007 03:32 PM

I have been saying this for a while

If it was not for all this subprime and other lending stuff, our economy would have tanked after September 11th.

One more thing, the subprime issues will pale in comparison to the option ARM issues that are soon to come.

After all if property (which is what a corporation is) can be a person, than surely a person can be property.

One thing about Newt...

I may not agree with everything he says, but he has real conviction in his beliefs about personal responsability and fiscal conservativesm. You can figure out his core beliefs and then know what his position will be.

Original article: Newt goes off message

Your right

he is not moving to the left, he is staying put while the republican party is moving off in some other direction. Take a look at his contract with America (1992 I think), the republicans today are nowhere close to it.

We got rid of Talent, and put in McCascal.

Friday, August 3, 2007 09:24 AM

Maybe the real problem

Is that the public dosen't understand the difference between reporting and opinion peices? These guys, O'Reily and lots of others never come out and say they are doing opinion peices, but they are. If anyone ever calls them on it the can claim it is obvious, but most people do not see the destinction.

are you a blogger, or just offended that you won't and can't be taken seriously? Most bloggers are the same jackasses who thought the govt. bombed the world trade center or think that aliens were responsible for the "roswell incident".

It's funny you should say that, I think the aliens bombed the world trade center.

Monday, August 6, 2007 01:45 PM

"YES!! The Democratic party needs party discipline. This has been a well-understood truism of party politics since the late 18th century."

Maybe they have discipline, but the leadership has no backbone.

The Democrats...

evidentally prefer being the minority, thats the direction thier headed. Maybe when they loose in 08 they will choose leadership with a backbone.
