This man talks about Brasil in an inteligent way and this is refreshing. I am used to northamericans talk about Brasil without grasping the true nature of the Brazilian way of life. Thanks Mr. Anderson.
I know this fight is impossible. How can a movie maker face all the media controlled by the insurance industry that wants to ripe a profit at the expenses of sich Americans? Moore is a lone fighter against the "Harry and Louises" and the terror ads against a Single Payer that brainsh Americans into believing that private is always better. The good news is that Americans will always do the right thing after trying everything else as someone once said. Congratulations Moore!
I am hoping that the life long ECT on a weekly basis will keep your son going, despite his severe disability. But as we know, only time will tell for sure. I am waiting for further well written articles from you.

In this accident everything is there: the airplane, the engines, the black boxes, the pilots and even eyewitnesses... Yet it is taking so long for the investigation agencies to know what happened... How come?... And...why the 777s have not been grounded?...
Regards
As I was giving up traveling as leisure (only emertencies!) because I can´t stand the "tourist class", and can´t afford the "executive" and "first class", you gave me hope!!! Will try Delta after they have these new seats!
Sometime ago I wrote to an airline with an ideia that I got from the interstate buses here in Brazil. They have the regular bus, that is cheapest. Then they have an executive bus that is a bit more expensive but much more confortable, not to speak of the sleeper bus that has seats that become almost beds. All for a higher price.
Why can´t arlines have, for instance, and "Executive Flight", that is in an airplane that has more space, better seats in the whole plane and not in a small section? I would gladly pay, let´s see one and half to twice the price of the economy class to fly in such an executive airplane. Not economically feaseable?
I just wonder.
Keep up the good work. I don´t miss your articles!
Insofar as seats..anyone knows the distance between then in the Constellation, DC-6(7), 707 and then compare it with the distance in the newer ones 767, 777, A320 ? Are people getting skinnier?... Someone said that the Girl of Ipanema is in Cuba: not so...Brazil... Airport terminal designs?...Try São Paulo Guarulhos... Where has gone the pleasure to fly?...
Thanks for reducing the A380 to its "real size"... This plane never impressed me from the beginning despite iys showers and locked bedrooms...I will always avoid it if I can... It is hard enough to board and to leave smallers planes...
But you are right, US airlines will fall behind if they don´t become more comfortable to its passengers, especially the tourist class. I am waiting for the 787 (when is this plane really coming out) and looking for flying the 777s...with the new chairs for the tourist class that Delta is proposing.
Many regards.
I believe it will help the McCain Campaign if Sarah Palin will show up at the Republican convention in a bathing suit. Who could be against this?...
I simply refuse to believe that the majority of Americans will risk having this woman as President. If this happens, there will be no hope for America... just a downhill course.
I Just can´t believe that the majority of Americans will risk having Palin as the President. Just imagine it! I fail to understand how and why this is happening. Not to speak of McCain who by profession loves war...
Is America going downhill?...
How ahbout having being a Miss Alaska? Nobody can beat that!

Isn´t the MD-80 a refurbished DC-9? Or it is newly built as such using an improved DC-9 design? In the Spainair crash could it be that the flaps were not deployed for take off?
Can such a thing happen even though the crew has to check this before taking off?...And the tower would not see it?
Now Brazilians and Koreans have a choice to fly from São Paulo to Los Angeles non-stop in a 777. It takes 12 hours and half but it is still better that what we had before: São Paulo to Miami, Dallas, Houston, Newark or Atlanta and then the second leg to Los Angeles.
The same Korean plane stops one hour in Los Angeles and will continue to Seul. Indeed a smart move for Korean Airlines. In the past Varig used to have this flight. No longer. I wonder if other airlines will decide to compete with Korean. Hope so.
But sometimes I am scary to think that perhaps the Korean plane will arrive in Los Angeles with the gas tanks empty...
Should I be concerned?

I am a Brazilian-American who lived and worked in the USA for thirty years, now living back in Brazil. While in America I learned to admire this Country and its people but I always failed to understand how little knowledge Americans had about the rest of the world. How many times my US friends would play Rumbas for me in their dinner parties...thinking that it was my music. And how many times they praised Buenos Aires to show their "knowledge" of Brazil. This has always been difficult for me to understand especially when I considered the wealth and the excellent education system of the USA. Now, for the first time I see an American, you, aware and willing to talk about this flaw. Hope many Americans will listen to you, for the good of this great nation that should not isolate itself from the rest of the world!
